This car was already recalled for the passenger side airbag and it took more than 2 years to get it replaced, with the recommendation that noone sit in the passenger seat. My daughter, with a 9 month old infant is driving this car and is now afraid to drive it with the driver side airbag recall. There is no timeline and now she no longer will drive this car. Because the stated risk is if the airbag inflater explodes, sharp metal fragments could strike the driver or other occupants causing serious injury or death. Would you drive your 9 month old in that car?? we need a better solution than we have no idea when we can fix it! thank you! kevin walli.
Received a recall notice for the drivers side airbag. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle and would like a loaner until the repair parts are available. This same vehicle had a passenger airbag recall. And a loaner vehicle was provided. This new recall is more serious given it is on the drivers side.
Vehicle was in motion when the driver side airbag deployed without warning causing driver to lose control of vehicle and collided with the front of a bank.
Takata airbag. Received letter from Ford July 2016 concerning passage side airbag. Web site say car safe to drive, no mention of any action I need to take. Received letter December 2017, with warning that no one should occupy passenger side front seat car still not fixed. Ford put my wife at risk for 18months, the car did not get suddenly more dangerious this is unacceptable Ford motor CO. Should be made accountable.
2011 Ford Fusion passenger airbag replacement delay. Ford has had over a year to replace the passenger side airbag they said could kill someone. Takata recall two months ago, I received recall notice indicating inflation of the passenger side airbag could cause severe injury or death. Neither Ford nor NHTSA have acted in a responsible manner in that Ford is still waiting for parts and cannot estimate when parts will be available. Considering inflation can cause "serious injury or death", there is no honest guidance by either Ford nor NHTSA other than keep driving. I intend to copy this to my two senators and my house representative.
Takata airbags recall. We were informed in July 2016 by our Ford dealer of recall. It's been over a year and a half. Our passenger side airbag has been turned off on advice from dealership. When are we going to be notified one way or another when it's going to be replaced.
It has been over 19 months since I was notified of a major defect in my passenger-side air-bag. When will this be corrected???.
"takata recall". In June of 2012 I purchased a 2011 Ford Fusion. Approximately July of 2013 I was notified by Ford that my vehicle had a recall on the passenger side airbag. My vehicle was to be fix when parts were available. Approximately one year later I called Ford to find out why my vehicle was not fixed. I was told because I lived in a cold client (massachusetts) that my vehicle would be one of the last vehicle to be fixed when parts became available. They also told me no one was to sit in the front passenger side because they could be seriously injured if the airbag exploded. My wife who is 75 years old a cancer survivor has sat in the back seat since 2013. Because of her age and health problems she can no longer sit in the back seat. I have contact Ford several time to tell them of this problem. For relief in 2018 they allowed me a rental car. Approximately, 2 months later I was contacted by the rental agency and informed me that Ford would no longer pay for the rental vehicle because I signed their form and added (I didn't give up my right to legal actions by signing this form). Because I refused to give up my legal right they stopped the rental vehicle. Ford case number cas-15314662 was assigned to my case and I have not heard anything since. My wife and myself who are elder both feel this timeframe is ridiculously long and has causes us much discomfort, anxiety and out of pocket expenses when we want to travel together we had to take separate vehicle or borrowed one of our children vehicle in order to sit comfortable and beside each other.
