general problems of the 2014 Ford Fusion - part 1

There is a problem with the purge valve on the Ford Fusion. Car will not start after pumping gas. You have to step on the gas pedal several times and then the car will turn on. After doing research there seems to be several people with the same problem. The purge valve on the canister is getting stuck letting the fumes come in making the system run with extra fuel that’s escaping.

I had multiple coolant leaks in the pass and I have to constantly replace the hose about every 2000-3000 miles also my screen went out in my dashboard causing me to not be able to make any audio changes or station adjustments in my car lastly whenever I get ready to increase my speed my car jerks back.

Car cuts off while driving. Runs for awhile and will cut off again. Check engine light came on the first time codes says the fuel pump. Change the fuel pump. 2nd time it does it codes poo88 and pooc6 comes up and changes the fuel pressure sensor. Car starts to stall and cuts off a third time.

I've had my Ford Fusion se ecoboost 1. 5, 2014 in for service on 2 separate occasions a day apart for the same reoccurring problems. The first service there was the actions done related to recalls which are consistent with 20s15 a-c and recall 23e03 b. The reasons for my Ford Fusion 1. 5 to have been brought to the premier Ford, waveland, ms was as follows: the temperature overheat lamp light was jared, there was 3 leaks from the overheat, there was a shutter and sounds that came from the engine, (limp*)and there was no fuel power through acceleration. There had been moisture located on exhaust before brakedown without having been driven for approximately 10hrs before brakedown. 2ed service was as follows: temperature overheat lamp light jared, no power through fuel to accelerate, and issues starting. Limp* I had not on this brakedown paid attention to if my Fusion needed water, the engines performance in regards to shakes or sounds nor did I look to notice nor did I look for leaks. I called directly to premier Ford, waveland and had my Ford towed in. The service was as follows: 1) 3u2z*14s411 wpt988 wire asy 2) ds7z*8501*e pw556 pumpasp-water 3) be8z*8507*a gasket-water pump 4)g 3801132 anti-freeze 5) 6 bm5z*6k2543*s437 screw 6) bm5z*6k254*a tensioner - timing belt with the parts 261. 44 labor 1748. 99 misc charges 50. 00 for a total of after taxes 2204. 66 I picked up my Ford Fusion on October 4, 2024 and on October 9, 2024 I went beck to the premier Ford and spoke with the service department because I had to stop and let my Fusion cool every 20 to 30 minutes, I stated that there was some loss of water and it was overheating, the power train light warning notify me of an issue, and that my Fusion would not go over 80miles per hr. The service department associate seemed frustrated with me and argued the fact that it had ran hot and said that the reason for the speed issue was that the lamp was identifying the keylock complete on pdf.

On [xxx] Ford premier out of waveland evaluated my car after I had to have it towed in due to overheating. The high temperature warning notification was lock and wouldn't change to normal after it cooled. I was not fully aware of my car overheating due to no warning other the the temperature overheat warning. A couple of days prior without driving it for 10hrs I noticed a moist to the exhaust pipe. When it broke down the engine had a misfire, a shake, and had not power to the engine to accelerate. There was 3 different puddles of fluids underneath the car. When I had spoke to the service department on this breakdown I made them aware of everything with one of the mechanics witnessing the shake within the engine. There was a confusion on my part due to the sticker showing a 1. 5l and my insurance showing through carfax a 2. 5l with also descripting a 1. 5l that showed for my car to be compatible to a 2. 0l, 1. 6l installation of coolant system, that of which lead me to request recalls through VIN# on [xxx] through verified and it was shown to be compatible for recall. Premier Ford service department assured me that nothing was wrong with the coolant system that the power train control module reprogramming took care of the breakdown. He assured me when I picked up my car that nothing was wrong with my car. Except for me needing to go, change the brakes so that he could change the brake hoses that are part of the recall associated with the brakes. This was on [xxx]. On [xxx] I broke down again with the same issue with this time before the breakdown there was a stall when I started my car and when they had my car on [xxx] I asked them the check the fuel injections and he stated there was nothing wrong with the fuel injections. My car has shown every sign that shows through the coolant system of a fire hazard. I am requesting that the department to assign the safety recall 17s09 to my VIN# [xxx] . The flex plate on my vehicle was cracked. Which damaged the transmission pump. We heard what sounded like a box of rocks which quickly got louder and louder we took the car to the dealer the next day. We had no other warnings something was wrong no engine light or anything. Had this plate broken completely we likely would have crashed and our small children could have been hurt. We took it to our local Ford dealer who diagnosed the issue, but would want over $6000 to fix the issue, on top of the $225 we paid to get the issue diagnosed. So for the forseable future we have no safe vehicle.

When driving the car will stall out and die in the driving state. This occurs without warning from any sensor light error warnings. After acceleration to 35 it will sputter as if the fuel is not flowing, yet then it will correct but stall and completely die during operation while driving. Have had both the upper and lower full pumps installed within the last calendar yet still currently having the problem or issue. Experiencing the exact same eco boost concerns as other Ford models have been recalled for as of recent.

Fuel tank: tank leaked when it was filled. Most of the time in my driveway but occasionally in parking lots unstil the tank level was reduced to approximately 3/4 filled. In addition fumes would fill the air surrounding the car. The automobile is being currently repaired at an independent repair facility. No other inspection other than repair facility. Initially no warning light but as it progressed the "check engine light" lit. Inspected the removed gas tank at repair facility and the caused of the problem may be a design flaw. The tank design on my vehicle (all wheel drive) is such that it has two zones and each zone has a fuel pump. The retaining plates on the tank are made of metal and therefore due to new england winters and the position of the tank and the location of the tank the retaining plates rust. This resulted in the retaining plates to rust leaving pin holes in the retaining rings causing gas and fumes to exit the fuel system.

Codes p0300 p0301 p0316 - my son was driving and approached a red light - his car began to idle rough and check engine light came on. Instructed him to park the car and we towed to a local mechanic. Cylinder 1 was misfiring and also had a mix of oil, fuel and possibly coolant in cylinder 1. Apparently this is a defective issue with a 2014 Ford Fusion with a 2. 0 ecoboost engine and also lawsuits regarding this. Ford dealership confirmed this is a sore issue with Ford and referred to Ford customer service --- no assistance and just advised to hold onto receipts in case it is a recall issue -- this is not okay at all. Ford has had plenty of opportunities to correct this with Ford Fusions but still have not!!!!! very very very upset!!!.

Car started making a loud noises from the back of the car when sitting idle in traffic. Noise got louder when opening gas cap. Once refueled the car failed to restart (turn on then shut off right away) and gave run, power, active message and engine light came on. After several tries and leaving foot on brake after pushing start and putting into gear right away the car stayed running. This leads me to believe this is the purge valve as many others have had the same issue. Ford issued a recall on the focus and earlier model Fusions for this issue but has not included the 2014 yet.

Unknown but every time I get gas my car basically tries to stall out or does stall out. Has stalled out 2x while at a red light. Has been happening the entire time I have owned this car. Over a year and half.

My engine light came on. Code is pp0456 - evap leak. Dealer found that gromet/seal on tank is failing. This part is not serviceable, so the entire fuel tank needed to be replaced. After dealer discount, the cost was $2242. 24. Dealer is larry h. Miller Ford, mesa, az, phone (480) 530-9600. I have owned many Ford vehicles since 1978 and never experienced such an expense. In my opinion, this is a design issue since the rubber seal is not serviceable. This experience is causing me to lose faith in the Ford brand. Is fmc willing to assist with this expense? please note - this vehicle has only been serviced at the dealership.

Mu 2014 Ford Fusion titanium hesitates to start back up after fueling and needs to be repeated multiple times, pumping the gas pedal for a few tries before it eventually stabilizes, accompanied by a very intense odor of exhaust. Final verdict: emissions purge valve assembly failure.

Had a new rebuilt transmission after having less than a year now gears getting stuck and won't shift. And as your driving it does and rough idle. Seems to be never ending!.

Vehicle's gas peddle becomes unresponsive/locks while in operation. Twice this has occurred at top speeds of 65 on major highways and thankfully, in situations where I could pull onto a median. That said, this is a very dangerous situation regardless and should substantiate an investigation as it's apparent I'm not the only one who's experienced this. In addition to this, the vehicle refuses to turn over when filled with gasoline.

As I was driving on the highway at 65mph my car stopped accelerating as I was driving. I had to cut my car off as to �restart� it would allow me to drive a short distance. Thank goodness I was not far from home. This has never happened and I had no warning or indication that something was wrong. I just got an oil change 2 weeks ago and I keep up on maintenance on my vehicle. I went to the internet and researched the issue and I came across a bunch. This is an issue that should be recalled because this can cause a health and safety hazard while driving.

I've had my car for 5 years. 6 months after I purchased it it started showing transmission issues. It's almost like it gets stuck in a gear when trying to accelerate , and then it flings your forward. When driving up a hill it won't go over 30mph. I took it in over 2 years ago to Ford and was told a transmission recall for 2014 Ford Fusions was coming. 2 years later and I'm being told my car doesn't qualify but is showing all the signs that's listed on the recall. Just last week my car shut off while driving on the freeway with my kids in the car. Since it's happened 3 times. Since it started shutting off while driving a new issue has progressed. My car now jerks when trying to accelerate. If I have the heater in it smells like something is burning. We used a code reader and it told us transmission issues but Ford still says I don't qualify.

The car will pulsate and shake when driving, then the check engine light would come on. You can't accelerate, like there no accelerating in then the car cut off, which is danger. I have had this car for less then a year, I just payed close to 1,000 bucks getting it fix from having electrical problems that my warranty did not cover. I had to take to the shop for things that was or recalled. , in now this. I think I was sell a lemon.

Upon applying the gas and accelerating from a stop or idle position and sometimes at speed, my 2014 Fusion will sputter with jerking motion while losing rpms and power before stalling altogether. It has happened more frequently and today it occurred multiple times, in several instances when entering traffic from a side road. This creates a significant potential for an accident to occur as the car suddenly stalls while cars are approaching and most likely not anticipating my vehicle to come to a stop. My only recourse is to shift the car to park and attempt to restart, which thus far has worked; though, the car is a bit difficult to start afterward. There's a hesitation to start afterward, as if there's no fuel, but not like an electrical or starter issue.

My check engine light came on I had car towed to Ford dealership was told that coolant seeped I to my engine this was a recall but my cars bin was not included I was told I owed 7000 to have it fixed. I will owe 10. 000 on loan. I pulled over and had car towed to dealership. When I had my oil changed I was told my car needed coolant it was empty. We added coolant. There was no coolant leaking from my car.

Fuel will be at 43 miles to empty and fuel light will come on then go off then the car shuts off when it's sitting.

Vehicle will go into safe mode while driving and will force you to pull over and shut down vehicle regardless of location, traffic, or driving condition. When you shut off car, you wait a few minutes, restart car and then car drives normal again, until it happens again.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. After adding fuel in the vehicle and while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. An abnormal humming noise emerged from the vehicle and the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact called royal oak Ford (27550 woodward Ave, royal oak, mi 48067, (248) 548-4100), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the purge valve canister needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 124,750.

My cars engine shuts off after accelerating with no warning. No engine lights come on during the process and my car remains in motion but can't accelerate. The car starts to shake vigorously when right before shutting off. I need to shut off the car and turn it back on to get it going, but it becomes dangerous when on the road. I took it to a mechanic who can't determine the cause of the issue. This issue only happens after a second startup of the vehicle within an hour time of shutting off the vehicle for the first time. After restarting the vehicle after the second failed drive, everything works correctly again. All electrical systems keep working when the engine shuts off. Happened 12 different times for me since February.

Fuel injector stuck open causing raw fuel to go into pistons only 68k.

When at a stop or. Light my car just dies take a while to restart but have to keep my foot on acclateor to keep running. Battery,alternator, starter all good.

I have a 2014 Ford Fusion ecoboost 2. 0 turbo the vehicle runs great until you shut it off. Once you start it up it runs fine then within a few minutes not everytime it will just shut off. It will also start shaking in stop and go traffic then shutoff. I have avoided two head on collisions at intersections turning left when the engin died, I was able to restart it both times after a few minutes then I nearly had a rear end impact when merging on the freeway, I w as going 65-70 and as I merged over the car sputtered and shut off. I was able to coast to the shoulder and wait for a tow. . This is a very dangerous issue and I know several people all with a Ford ecoboost engine that have the same issue. The problem appears to be the purge valve. Ford needs to address all ecoboost motors. This is an active recall on the Ford focus 2. 0 liter cars. Suffice to say I am very cautious when ever I drive it now. I want it fixed or gone. This still happens almost daily.

When I initially start my vehicle there are no problems. The problem starts if I turn my car off after driving it. It will start and I can drive for about 500 feet and it will then turn off. I have to restart it and then it continues to drive normally. This happens almost every time I start, stop and restart the vehicle. It is always while the vehicle is in motion.

Shows code p4150 makes loud humming noise sulpher smell jerk then dies while driving city street. Has happened 11 times in 3 months.

Engine stalls due to fuel vacuum. When driving the engine to will stall under low rpms especially when pulling out of driveaway and at stop signs. This happens daily.
