2015 Ford Fusion with 85,000 miles had steering gear fail. Vehicle already had recall for corrosion on steering box bolts. Steering gears are built for 10/12/15 years and this failed in under 6 years. This is unacceptable. My son was driving and the power steering shut down and the vehicle drives as if it doesn't have power steering. The tsc off and tsc indicator lights are lit up on the dash.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. While driving less than 25 mph, the steering wheel seized. The contact had to restart the vehicle approximately four times before the steering wheel would work properly. In addition, the warning indicators on the steering wheel illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (healey Ford Lincoln, 2528 route 17m, goshen, NY 10924, (877) 706-3640) where it was diagnosed that the steering wheel failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was 72,880.
