1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

My car is having a problem with the a coolant intrusion into the intake so coolant is leaking into the engine, this being said there was a recall for my car a while ago when I did not own the car and I believe it was never replaced or taken care of. When I went to the Ford dealership they are saying that there is no recall for my car. The car misfired once which is one of the symptoms, I got my spark plugs replaced, my check engine light came on again for a different problem, I got my intake replaced it ran fine for 4 days and now I am back with the same problem 4 days later. Doing some research I believe that there is a cracked cylinder head or failing gasket. Ford did have a recall on my engine coolant intrusion but like I said prior they are saying there is no recall for my engine which is why I am confused about it. All of my engine problems are leading to this recall that was never fixed on my car or was looked over in my engine. Any help on this would be great thanks.

2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2025

My vehicle has the Ford ecoboost 2. 0 liter engine in it that has been recalled on thousands of vehicles. My car currently has the same issue which is a coolant intrusion that has been recognized and was a class action lawsuit against Ford for this issue. I have been advised by a local Ford dealership that my engine should be part of the recall and Ford should be replacing my engine. However, when I called Ford, they are advising there is nothing they can do, because there is no current recall for my vehicles VIN and so I am trying to reach out and see if there's anything that can be done before hiring an attorney, because as a single mother I cannot afford $12,000 out of my pocket with hopes that eventually Ford will do the recall properly and reimburse me as they have stated "could happen". This is a known issue this engine of mine has been looked at by three mechanics one being a Ford dealership to confirm that this engine was in fact warped from the factory which is causing my coolant to seep into the heads or whatever and I need the long block replacement that the original recall fell under which was somewhere around the 50,000 mark of these vehicles recalled. The engine is needing to be repaired and taken care of so I'm seeking direction on how to possibly get Ford to take care of this issue that I should not be having to deal with due to a manufacturing defect since leaving off the factory floor.

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

The 1. 5l engine is having known issues with coolant intrusion into the engine under 100,000 miles. Many people are bringing up their issues staying Ford is confirming the mass amount of engine issues with intrusion and quoting $6,000 for new engines. This is absurd because these vehicles should not have an engine known to fail at 100,000 because of leaking coolant into the cylinder. I started losing coolant at 90,000 miles and having to fill it back up.

11 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2025

Parked car husband ran diagnostic and misfire cylinder 3 again. Compression test all cylinders were at 148 accept cylinder 3 at 150 due to antifreeze in it. Checked oil no antifreeze in oil. Noted excessive white smoke from dual exhaust. Coolant pressure test done and noted antifreeze observed in cylinder 3. Technical bulletins and recalls checked noted multiple forums with coolant induction issues due to poor design of ecoboost engines by Ford. Still owe $10k on this car Ford should be responsible for all manufactured years with issues due to ecoboost. Unable to find anything for 2016 Fusion 2. 0. Please help!.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2025

My complaint is, why does my 2016 Ford Fusion 1. 5l 4-cylinder ecoboost engine continue to be excluded from these major recalls? it's not fair as I deserve to have my engine, clock spring, & my rear view camera replaced just like the other Ford vehicles! I purchased my 2016 Fusion in 2018 & only a couple of years later I started having problems with the rear view camera but the dealership said that it wasn't covered under the warranty. I have always smelled engine coolant & oil but was always told that there is nothing leaking on the ground so there's nothing to worry about. Also I reached out to you guys in 2024 with the gmail address of [xxx] ) about my steering wheel clock spring & never heard anything back, so I purchased a new one on [xxx] & replaced it myself when it arrived. Also earlier that day, I had my valve cover replaced at brad howell Ford in kokomo, in because I have been constantly losing oil & smelling oil burning. Even after that, I continued to smell oil & engine coolant but still get told that there's nothing leaking. Well my next oil change after that, I told them to check again because I had to add more oil, & that's when they determined that it was the turbo drain tube, which they replaced on Nov. 5, 2024. That stopped the oil smell, but I continued to smell engine coolant which I continued to report to them, & at each oil change, they continued to top off the engine coolant. On Aug. 12, 2025 brad howell Ford decided to run a camera down into my cylinders & discovered that there's oil & coolant leaking down into my #2 cylinder. I contacted tonia frataccia, customer experience specialist, Ford cx/team, & I was told that my VIN# didn't make the recall list & that's why my engine wasn't replaced. It's not fair as my vehicle has the same defective engine & parts as the other recall vehicles & I deserve to have my car repaired also at Fords expense. Please help me, I need my car. Thank you for listening. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

My coolants been leaking starting at around 110k miles and it seems like the 2016 Ford Fusions with 1. 6l are know to have coolant intrusions due to a defect in engineering by Ford. This problem eventually leads to corroded head gaskets and can cause the engine to basically explode in the middle of nowhere which is a safety concern. The costs of repair is over 4k+ for a new engine or just to replace the head gasket for something Ford engineers should be liable for. Please look into this and you may even look at my car if you like.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2025

Dear NHTSA, I am reporting a potential safety and design issue related to my 2016 Ford Fusion titanium with the 2. 0l ecoboost engine. The vehicle is experiencing coolant loss with no visible external leak, which is a documented issue under Ford TSB 19-2208. This condition can lead to sudden engine failure or hydrolock due to coolant entering the combustion chamber. A compression test revealed all cylinders at 155 psi, indicating the block has not yet failed — but the symptoms are known warning signs of the defect Ford acknowledged in its customer satisfaction program 19n05, which does not include my VIN despite identical failure risk. Ford has refused to provide goodwill support under case [xxx], despite this being a well-known failure that has prompted engine replacements in other affected 2. 0l ecoboost models. Please document this case as part of your ongoing safety tracking. I believe this design flaw represents a serious long-term reliability and safety concern. Vehicle: 2016 Ford Fusion titanium engine: 2. 0l ecoboost mileage at onset: 130,000 approx. VIN: [xxx] sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

18 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

The engine coolant over temperature light came on and I was forced to pull off the side of the interstate because the car had lost most of it’s power. It’s my understanding the 1. 5 l eco boist engines have a failure where they allow coolant to leak into the cylinder. We had the car looked at, let it cool down and the code cleared and drove home. This happened again and luckily we were close to a family members home and were able to limp the car there with very little power. The car was checked by a mechanic and they could not find a problem. The code was cleared and it drove fine again. Today the car did the same thing after a 30 minute drive and luckily we were close to home and once again limped it back to the house. I will be calling Ford in the morning to have it looked at.

19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2025

Engine light turned and, scanned it and code is p0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected. Coolant is leaking into the engine. I have looked online and multiple people have had this issue, majority of them taking their vehicles to Ford dealers and being told they need an engine replacement. I have taken my vehicle to a mechanic shop and was told the same thing. My safety was at risk because this issue caused my engine to overheat and the engine would not turn on for a while after. With coolant being mixed in with the oil, it damages the engine and can cause the car to stop being functional while you are still operating it. I am also including a link to a website that has proof that Ford delearships have seen this issue before, are aware of it but do nothing to fix it [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

20 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2025

My 2016 Ford Fusion se 2. 0l turbo has been emitting some white smoke, then the other day it would not start right away. When started it ran rough for a few minutes on idle and when driving it does not have much power anymore and it would hesitate a lot if trying to accelerate. So getting on the interstate that morning I nearly got rear ended by a semi-truck because I could not accelerate up to speed. The check engine light came on shortly and I took it to a mechanic who did tests to diagnose. The diagnostic showed misfiring in cylinder 2 most likely due to coolant intrusion. After doing some research it was evident that many owners have had this happen and had to replace their entire engine for 6000+ dollars. My car only has 114,000 miles on it and it should function properly. I have seen cars with 250,000+ miles easily.

21 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2025

Ford has a recall on 2016 Ford Fusion transmission cable shifter. My car is not under the recall but displays the issues the recall states. My car jerks during acceleration and difficult to park. Can please help me resolve the issue with Ford. They refuse to fix the issue because my car VIN# was not placed under the recall. It is not fair for me to pay for an mechanical issue that was defective by Ford causation.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2025

Started car and out of nowhere it began sputtering. Then engine light came on and when tested the diagnostic said “cylinder 2 misfire. I didnt drive anywhere and light was off today when I crank it. Well started driving and light is flashing. Ford dealership said this is a common issue from poor design engine but my car only has 40,000 miles. This seems to happen to alot of the 2016 eco models. Says coolant goes into engine. I’m aware most of these models have recalls but not 2016 why!!!!! it’s clearly a faulty engine problem if so many people are having the exact problem and code.
