1 Shift Linkage/cable/rod problem

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his daughter was reversing out of the driveway at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle failed to shift into gear. There was no warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the shifter cable bushing had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

2 Shift Linkage/cable/rod problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2021

Was driving my cat and it popped up shift system fault. I couldn't move my car. It stalled in the middle of the road. I contacted several people about this. Found out the shifter cable came loose from the transmission. The clamp that hold its on was gone. I happened to just backed up and this happened. If this was to happen driving this could have resulted in a serious accident.
