77k miles, shift system fault while vehicle in use, trying to change from reverse to drive on a downtown city street. Gear selector knob returns to park from selecting reverse, or drive. Ford Fusion is not operable and had to be towed. Reviewed previous incident reports for 2017 model identifying plastic bushing holding the shift link cable to the transmission failing. Ford Fusion model 2016 and earlier recalls for the same plastic bushing failure, along with my wife's 2014 Ford escape having a recall for the same plastic bushing.
