Rearview System Braking Problems of Ford Fusion

The rear backup camera screen is black or flickers, and sometimes shows an error message like "camera not available. " Ford just issued another recall for rear cameras for this issue, but deliberately excluded Ford Fusion vehicles. They need to include ASAP as this is a known, dangerous issue that can cause an accident.

The cross trafic light warning comes out as not working while I am driving on highway or any other street and the system is actually working.

The backup camera is not working right it's either fuzzy or it's black and sometimes it is showing on opposite direction causing me to almost have a huge accident with my children inside this is currently still happening and started over 2 months ago.

The rear view camera operates intermittently. Sometimes it works fine, other times the picture is blank or is extremely blurry with horizontal lines through it or the screen just displays snow. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. It can work in the morning, but not when I leave to go home after work. It can works for days, then not work for days. I called Ford due to an article that came across my news feed about rear camera recalls, but Ford said I'm not covered. This has been going on for several months now. A dealer wanted to charge several hundred dollars to check it out, but I didn't want to pay. To me this should be covered under warranty.

While backing up, the rear came will show a black screen on the display or a message to contact the dealership. This isn't a constant issue, but comes whenever. I took it to the dealership a few years ago, but because it wasn't happening then, they said there was nothing they could do.

The notification appears as steering system fault service required, blind spot system fault, and cross traffic fault this happened while driving lost ability to steer car dosent crank, this poses a serious risk of injury/death.

The rear view camera on my Ford Fusion has been not working. A couple months ago it was off and on when it did not work. When it was too hot the camera would not work and have an error that says to go to a dealership. I dealt with it because it was every once in a while, but now it never works. I went to my local mechanic and he did not know what was causing the problem. I saw that multiple Ford cars, including Fusions, are under recall for what appears to be the same issue I am dealing with. I think the recall should be extended to more model years since it seems to me there are more cars with the problem.

The backup camera fails to show an image from behind the car over 75% of the time. The display in the car is black upon putting the car in reverse, within about 2 seconds a message displays “rear view camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership. ” the collision sensors (rear cross traffic) also does not work when the camera is not working. Looking at multiple online sites, as well as a friend who has a similar model Fusion as I do, there are many many reports of this issue . My car is low mileage (63,141). Ford also has multiple recalls for this issue on other models and years, this car should be included in the recalls.

My back-up camera only half works. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. My car also doesn’t alert me to when I’m getting too close to another vehicle when I backing into a parking spot. Also, the bluetooth in my car has not worked or even connect to my phone since I first bought that car, and for this car to not even be 10 years old yet, this is ridiculous. Everyone I know has been having very similar issues. Y’all need to get it together. Is there anyway this issue can be looked into as well please? it’s be really nice to get to use all of my features I pay for. Love the car, hate this electrical bs. ??.

Electronic power steering systems failure (2010 Ford Fusion hybrid) due to issues of excessive heat on the motor), power steering locked. I was on hwy90 when the steering locked, I almost got in big accident on the hwy 90.

Driver side safety door lock latch gave out and door does not close to lock. Door opened in the middle of traffic. Used a rope to tie door closed in inside but door ajar light comes on still. Will not lock closed. They have recalls on this same problem just not my vehicle even though it’s the same part. Safety rear left cross traffic sensor just gave out and flashes code on dash now. Will not sense vehicle approaching on drivers side now as well.

The same issue with the backup camera as the other vehicles in current recall. The 2016 Ford Fusion should be on that list as well.
