The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. Upon reaching the destination, the vehicle failed to restart. After several attempts, the vehicle started, and the contact heard an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed failures with the transmission, flex plate, purge valve, and a bent solenoid. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 109,000.

Failure Date: 01/25/2023

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light was illuminated. 3 Storage Evaporative Emissions Hoses/valves/sensors problem of the 2014 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/05/2022

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving on an incline, the brake pedal was depressed when he felt a pop on his foot from the brake pedal then without warning the brakes failed and he felt the brake pedal was down to the floor. The contact then stated that he had to apply pressure when depressing the brake pedal but failed to completely stop. The contact also stated that he got out of the vehicle to check the front of the vehicle when he noticed that brake fluid had escaped and created a puddle. The vehicle was towed to his residence then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake line hose failed and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that on several occasions he heard a putting noise, and the vehicle would start to shake and failed. The contact also stated that each time he would put gas in the vehicle, it would fail to start. The contact would then rev the engine for the vehicle to accelerate then the rpm would decrease, and the vehicle shut off. The engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he used his own diagnostic machine and determined that the canister purge valve solenoid failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
