Car have trouble accelerating and shifting into gear. It started randomly sometimes it will shift extremely hard and then won’t accelerate after 45 minutes.

I was driving my car on the interstate at 75 mph and had the cruise control on when the wrench light came on and the car started slowing down and losing power. I pulled over and shut the car off for a few min, started driving, and it did it again. A couple of mechanics I've talked to said it could be the throttle body positron sensor or the throttle body itself. I've had the fuel pump and fuel pump modulator and relays checked. I've also had the spark plugs checked and changed and the issue was still there. The car has a mileage of 71,000. The car is still not fixed at this time.

The car suddenly accelerated 3 times since it was purchased new in 2011. The 1st time I was parking and the car suddenly accelerated and hit a cement wall. The second time I was also entering a parking spot and the car suddenly accelerated and crashed into a tree. I took it to my dealer and they were unable to replicate the problem. This was in 2015. On 9/13/2022 I was about to make a right turn and suddenly the car accelerated at high speed and crossed over the road onto the golf course before I was able to slow it down. I immediately parked the car and haven't driven it since. I feel that it is unsafe to drive especially since the dealer was unable to identify the problem.

While driving my 2010 Ford Fusion, on five separate occasions (two times less than a week apart) and over the last five months, while stopping for traffic lights, traffic or pedestrians the brake pedal travelled just inches from the floor and extra effort was needed in attempt to activate the brakes hoping to come to a complete stop. On two jarring instances collision was avoided only by swerving the vehicle to keep from hitting a wayward pedestrian and the other instance was with another vehicle backing out in a mall shopping center. On all five occasions there was an associated amber abs light on the dash, a sudden drop in brake pressure and severely degraded to no braking power during application. The brake fluid reservoir is appropriately filled with the manufacturer specified dot 3 brake fluid and there are no leaks in the system whatsoever. I’ve been told at the Ford dealership that my vehicle will not be able to be inspected or seen by appointment for a little over 2 months (late oct 2022). I’ve contacted Ford’s customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and they stated that my VIN# is not included in the recall: 19s54. It’s apparent that my vehicle is experiencing all of the identical issues which prompted the Ford recall 19s54. Please assist so the Ford Fusion community can resolve this issue before another catastrophic event occurs.

I didn’t know or the incident with the car until I purchased and started noticed the way it drives. It do have a problem with acceleration while shifting gears, and also loses power with a/c turned on.

Was driving when the car started to accelerate by itself. Revved up to higher rpm’s. I put the car in neutral when a safety warning message showed on the screen saying, stop safely now. With a red triangle with an exclamation point in the center. I turned the car off and started it again. As soon as the engine kicked in, it started to accelerate on its own again. Stopped again and let it sit for a bit, started it up again and let it gradually accelerate on its own(didn’t push down on the gas pedal)- didn’t seem to accelerate correctly after that. Car is now sitting.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle accelerated independently. While attempting to park the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated over the parking block. The bumper was detached. The engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated there was a slow leak and referred her to the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

As I was driving, it felt as if my car had turned off or had no fuel, but no engine lights came on and I had fuel in my tank. Also all my electrical stuff stayed on, only lost power on the accelerator. My safety and others safety was put at risk because there were no warning signs I just had no "go power" and no one around me knew my car had no power which could lead to an accident, serious injury or death; if on highway traveling at high speeds and it randomly dies. I took my car to a mechanic and they stated everything was perfectly fine they did a full diagnostic and the computer didn't show any errors in operation. This happened 3 times in one day at random times, I could put the car in park and re-start and it ran fine. However I did have to hold the key forward longer for the engine to turn over.

Throttle body failure causes vehicle to randomly die or shall or hard shift constantly while driving in heavy traffic and has almost caused multiple wrecks from vehicle stalling and hard shifting randomly. Every light on dash lights up when it happens and car dies causing driver to suddenly switch to park, turn key off and try to start car again while stuck in middle of road or traffic.

Driving in very heavy rain on i93 at about 40mph, exited highway, after about 5 miles, no power steering, many other functions stopped operating, limped into a parking lot, tried to reset everything by shutting off and back on, no change. Brought car to dealer, said they had to replace power steering unit, $2000. This happened when car was only two years old.

Car has intermittent electrical issue that causes ecus to reboot often times disabling safety systems such as abs, airbags, collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, power steering and power brakes. Ford dealer believes that it's a short in a wiring harness. They claim this issue has been seen in several vehicles like mine. Ford was able to reproduce the problem and recommends replacement of a wiring harness ($4k). To date, I have not had an accident, but do not feel safe driving the vehicle if the airbags and other safety systems become inoperable. Yes, all of the dashboard lights come on when this issue occurs - technician states that the whole computer system gets taken down. That's very uncomfortable when you are traveling at highway speed and no longer have safety system. Steering and braking do get impacted but are not inoperable. When driving my 2016 Ford Fusion, the transmission not in park light comes on without any other warnings. This is unsafe because it stops accelerating. Most times I'm on the freeway. This is a safety issue that has been happening for about 2 years now. The dealerships tell me that they can't fix it because the safety issue does not occur when they have the vehicle and cant read any codes. One Ford dealership sold me a radiator and told me that was the issue. A different Ford dealership told me that it has nothing to do with the radiator. No one seems to be able to repair this safety problem that I am experiencing. Another Ford dealership told me that there is a recall but my VIN number does not fall in that recall. How can I get my vehicle associated with the recall and have it repaired. I feel so unsafe driving especially in construction zones where I am unable to pull over. Once I coast across traffic to pull off the road I stop the engine. It starts right back up. This is unsafe. No vehicle should stop accelerating while driving. The service lady at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle stopped returning my phone calls. How can this safety issue be rectified as soon as possible. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle.

While driving back home from work on 07/22/21, I heard a noise on the front side of the car and lost power. I had to pull over to a parking spot in an apartment complex. My car wasn't moving forward or backward, I called good sam road assistance to get it towed on Friday, it has been inspected in a repair shop since then and apparently is a transmission issue. Good thing is there were no cars behind or in front of me and avoided a collision.

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact was driving at low speeds the vehicle accelerated without warning and crashed into the vacuumn machine at the car wash. The contact applied the brakes and shifted into neutral but the vehicle wa slow to respond. There were no reported injuries ,police report, air bag deployment, or fire. My brakes have had the issue regarding this recall for quite some time now: Dec 18,2019 manufacturer recall number19s54 NHTSA recall number19v904 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary on your vehicle, a valve in the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system may be stuck open. This still hasn't been fixed and it's been over a year. This is unacceptable. This recall is a major safety concern and needs fixed ASAP to ensure the safety of me and my toddler. The brakes are having to have extended travel, and do not act properly. Please help.

I found little light yellow plastic under my rug after not knowing what was wrong with my car the back light brake light won't turn off it's a little button that control the brakes now my back light won't turn offf I have to take the fuse out and my car won't go past 45-50 mph before it starts stalling. The yellow plastic I cannot find any where. What keeps popping up is hill start not available as well.

I was driving and proceeded to park and I couldn't shift from drive to park. It happened twice since the 20th of March. I had to turn off car and shift again. The car shifted at that moment. The car never gave any indication of a problem. No check engine light, smoking, not even oil usage for that matter. I checked the oil every time I got gas because I bought it 3 weeks prior. Then was driving to interstate to work when I hear jt start clicking immediately got a oil light then dies and was stuck on interstate cars zoomomg by at 80 if I were in the center lane I would be dead.

The contact rented a 2020 Ford Fusion from hertz car rental. The contact stated while driving 25 mph on a incline hill, a strange sound occurred and the vehicle started to slow down. The contact depressed the acceleration pedal , however the vehicle started to roll backwards down the hill causing the vehicle to crash into two other vehicles. No warning lights was illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was damaged on the driver side door and the back light was dented. The contact sustained whiplash and lower back pain; no injuries sustained by other vehicle drivers. A police report was filed. I was merging into the left lane to take a 30ft roundabout at 20-25 mph and mid circle the cars power steering cut off, pulling car to the outside median. Warning lights came on, loss of traction controls and something to do with hill parking.

Engine light, advance trac light, abs light, battery light, tire pressure monitoring system light, alarm light suddenly came on. Then dash went completely blank. Headlights went out,lost control of vehicle at high speed. Dash lights came back on stirring control of vehicle lost. All dash lights started flashing. Breaking system not working.

On December 1st I was driving my Ford Fusion 2 the actual Ford dealership to get a look at their field service action that they had posted on my Ford app. While on my way I was stopped at a light on columbia drive in portland oregon and I had thought my foot slipped off the brake initially but actually would happen if my car had accelerated and to the gentleman in front of me causing a car accident. My insurance company would have nothing to do with it I tried to contact Ford the dealership that I normally go to to see if they could repair the front-end of my Ford Fusion that was demolished and also no airbags went off as I had just got my car out of the shop at Ford for a recall on the airbags my fiance was with me so there was definitely cause for concern fortunately nobody was hurt but like I said my car was demolished on the right passenger side front end I couldn't figure out why my car accelerating on its own so looking into it the explanation that I came up with was definitely the electronic throttle body motor and all I want is my car returned back to its prior condition I have no other vehicle I don't know who to contact I did contact Ford and was referred to a bigger Ford company if someone could help that would be amazing I'd appreciate it. . . Also no warnings or sensors went off in my vehicle I do have the sel package and once again no airbags were deployed and for the amount of damage that was done I was very surprised.

A week ago I was driving on the highway @ 70 mph and all of the sudden my car stopped for no reason I looked down and my turn knob shifter was on park, lucky for me there wasn't any vehicle close behind me. I put my emergency flashers on and turned my car off and back on and it started going again. Then the other day I started it and it started fine put it in reverse and it switched to park when I started backing out of my driveway and a warning showed up on my screen and said to stop safely, so again I turned it off and back on and it started and backed up and drove fine but the warning sign was still there so I pulled back in my driveway turned it off let it sit for about an hour, started it and the warning sign was gone and it ran fine.

I first noticed harsh shifting and delayed shifting. Then I was pulling off from the car wash and my gearshift jump gears from neutral to reverse but not drive however the car did move forward. I had the vehicle towed to winner gord where they immediately knew what the issue was because they said its common. When I got my vehicle back the harsh/delayed shifting was still an issue. Weeks later the car in addition to harsh and delayed shifting it now shakes really bad.

The car shuts off while driving under the speed of 20 mph. It has happened 6 times in the last 2 months. The worse part was it happened on the interstate in the rain and I had to pull over quickly on to the ramp while an 18 wheeler was coming my way.

My car slips out fo gear, slows down on the highway, revvs at high rpm's, and won't accelerate again unless I slam the gas pedal down. It only does this sometimes. Also, I have been experiencing intermittent brake failure. I apply my foot onto the break, and it goes straight to the floor. Delays stop time substantially.

Traveling on highway at 70 mph with sudden immediate inability to maintain speed (loss of power/acceleration). Vehicle not responsive to acceleration request until below 45 mph and behaves erratically (just stops responding and car slows). No check engine light and car otherwise runs normally. Accompanying behaviors: brake lights are constantly illuminated (stuck on), even when not braking and also when car is turned off and key removed. Intermittently when car is stopped, message "hill start assist not available" is shown. Took car into Ford dealership who diagnosed the problem and "found brake switch engagement bushing missing from brake pedal" and offered to replace the "brake pedal assembly" at a cost of $1,062. 35. Found several forums complaining of the same exact behaviors and noting that the oem "brake pedal stop pad" had broken into pieces. I also remembered vacuuming up some plastic pieces from the driver front floor area not realizing where they had come from. The "brake pedal stop pad" itself which would cost less than $5. 00 is not offered by Ford, so people are finding alternatives which may be unsafe and include: "brake pedal stop pad" not designed specifically for this vehicle, zip ties, and even magnets! other Ford models are affected as well. I was involved in a major collision on Thursday 8/27 at approximately 3:30pm. While approaching the intersection to make a right turn, I removed my foot from the gas and attempted to brake, but rather than slow down, my car accelerated. When I pressed the brake all the way down it still continued to accelerate until I hit another vehicle which finally stopped my car. I am lucky no one including myself died- this is absolutely unacceptable. Ford continues to have these issues and their negligence is going to harm more people!.

My vehicle has been stalling while I am either driving on a highway, turning or stopped at a light. This is extremely dangerous while driving on the highways in NJ.
