1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2016

The electronic throttle body and electronic throttle sensor were sending my car into "limp mode", and very nearly caused two accidents before I could have the issue diagnosed and repaired. The first instance of "limp mode" came while I was driving home on the freeway in commute traffic. It was warm, traffic was erratic stop-and-go, and I had the ac on. After a period of coasting at idle, traffic opened up; but when I tried to accelerate the car staggered and nearly stalled. I thought it was due to heat and the ac. The car then jerked forward before running smoothly again. The second time, I was on my way to work, again in freeway commute traffic. Traffic was at a stop for several minutes, and then I heard a news report that there were accidents ahead. I moved over to the 4th lane of 5, in preparation for exiting at the next off ramp. When I tried to pull out and speed up into that lane, the car again staggered and then stalled; I managed to re-start it and get moving again as a truck came racing towards me, with the driver hitting his brakes and horn. I barely avoided a crash.

2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that intermittently while driving, an unspecified warning light will illuminate on the instrument control panel, and then the vehicle will stall. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility for inspection. A mechanic concluded that he would have to pay $800. 00 to replace the electronic throttle control. No repairs were made. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 47,800. The current mileage was 48,000.

3 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang. While driving 70 mph the vehicle stalled. Occasionally, the vehicle will restart and when it doesn't, the vehicle has to be towed. The rpm's also increased to 2000, which made it difficult to decelerate. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 25000. The current mileage was 26000.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2008

#1 - there are no identifiable events that either originally, or subsequently lead up to the failure(s). #2 - the 'failure' is on-going, and intermittent in nature, with the car stalling randomly, not responding to the gas pedal and then surging forward a few seconds later and exhibiting lag time when shifting. We had several episodes of stalling when going through an intersection which has put us in 'the line of fire' with on-coming traffic. We have also experienced complete shut-down of the vehicle when just going down the road. #3 - the car has been in and out of the shop for over two years, with periods experiencing o. K. Performance, and these intermittent issues.
