In city traffic at a stop light, went to step on the gas to accelerate, the engine started extreme shaking & the car would not go. Shut off the engine & restarted it. The wrench light & check engine light came on the dashboard and car went into limp mode & lost all acceleration. After multiple attempts at restarting, the car was not drivable. Had the car towed to the dealership, advised service rep of consumer satisfaction program 13n03 & was informed that Ford will not honor the program for 2006 Mustang.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang. The contact stated as soon as she would release her foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would sporadically stall and the check engine light would illuminate. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure and the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the independent mechanic replaced the throttle. The failure continued to recur. The contact stated she was afraid to drive the vehicle. There were no further repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000 and the current mileage was 6,046.
Have had this car in the shop two times previously. One because the fuel pump was bad, the second because there was a throttle variance and a variance in the transmission and the wrench came on in the vehicle then disappeared. This was checked and supposedly nothing was wrong with the car, because the wrench light was off and never came back on. On Saturday Dec. 16, 2006 there was another transmission variance and throttle variance with the car. Today, Monday Dec. 18, 2006 on my way to work, the engine light flashed on and off then disappeared.
