The contact stated when the hvac system was engaged to clear the windshield due to overnight condensation, the hvac system failed to operate as designed and the windshield was not cleared. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact also noted that the air conditioning system was inoperable. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the evaporator and compressor needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
