My vehicle had a recall: Ford recall 22s06 involves 2015-2017 Ford Mustangs due to a potential issue with the rearview camera. The wiring for the rearview camera may be loose or damaged, causing the camera to display a blank or distorted image. This can reduce the driver's visibility behind the vehicle, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. The dealership at Ford chapman automobile claims the issue is fixed but they never fixed anything on my backup camera. It was blinking and they said it is normal for this vehicle. My backup camera is not working and they are refusing to fix it. I have contacted Ford but they also refer to the report from the dealership and say according to the dealership the problem is fixed and there is nothing that could do. My car has very limited visibility and this causes problems when backing up.

I was driving on the highway went to adjust my rearview mirror and my mirror just snapped from the windshield and broke off from the windshield also breaking the windshield as well took it to the Ford dealership the car is just only 5k miles they wouldn’t even cover it said it was “excessive force” multiple people with the same vehicle had the same issue and they don’t want to cover it it’s $1000 to replace the windshield or you rearview mirror is just broke and the windshield is just cracked.

Like many many Ford Mustangs 2015 and newer, the ac evaporator has failed and is leaking. This can cause condensation on the windshield and visibility issues with fogging / defrosting. Ford refuses to replace the defective evaporator. Ford dealer coughlin Ford, newark, ohio diagnosed the defect and provided an estimate of $2,679. 88 to replace the evaporator.

Windows started fogging up when driving. Turned on ac to resolve and no cold air came out resulting a dangerous driving condition trying to see through condensation. Took vehicle to the dealer and found the cause was yet another leaking ac evaporator coil as several others have reported. Concerning to know there were toxic chemicals leaking in the vehicle. Dealer quoted at $3,000 to replace. Ford has changed manufacturers of this part due to widespread failure of the original equipment. Why is it on the vehicle owners to pay and replace this known faulty part which causes a safety issue?.

This is about a recall on my sisters Mustang. Today, 6/19/24, we brought it into a Ford dealership, and they replaced the wiring harness for the backup camera, however, the issue is not resolved. We still cannot use the backup camera at all. According to the recall, the actual camera was updated in January 2015, so they cannot replace it because our Mustang is a 2017 model (only wiring harness are covered under recall after that production date). This is not acceptable, as we still have have this issue. This is not a coincidence that the same part went out as the recall in earlier models, but is not covered because it was “updated”. Please investigate this, as we are not the only ones suffering this issue. The recall number is 22s06.

Back up camera recall was unresolved by previous owner. I’ve tried fixing the issue myself but cannot find it. The camera displays blue and black screens while in reverse.
Cold weather. Warmed up the car for 10 minutes . All defoger for rear glass and winshield were used . There is accessive condenced water all over inside front and back window. Started driving and used the wiper to clean the windshield and found out water is on the inside made the visability hard. Another issue with the camera visibility issue is daily in cold weather where the glass in front of the camera gets foggy and there is no way to clean as it foggs up inside the winshield and camera housing makes the auto break system not working . After the snow there is a sound of a water puddle some whereon the right side on the car.
Windshield wipers turn on randomly and will not stay on when switch is on, also sprays washer fluid on windshield randomly and wipers do not work making it a very dangerous driving hazard.

The evap core is known be a faulty part on these cars. It makes it unsafe to drive due to visibility from fogged up windows without it working properly.
Has two recalls on my car.
The backup camera on my 2015 Mustang gt has been intermittently going out leaving a blank screen or a failed image on the dash display saying I need to contact Ford. I have been notified of a recall by the manufacturer on my particular vehicle. However, after taking my car in they said the recall span as determined by Ford apparently does not include my particular car, even though mine was manufactured in the middle of the production years 2015 - 2017. My car persists in having this issue and the wiring at the trunk lid appears defective and the insulation is split. The problem is intermittent and random. There were no incidents but some close calls. Calls to customer service say there is an active recall on my vehicle.
The 2015-17 all have the same issue with the ac system as a whole, it is very faulty and not safe. This is due to a manufacturing defect. The ac constantly blows hot air even when on cold and only on to the windshield which causes visibility issues which could be fatal for me or anyone on the road. I went to Ford yesterday to ask about the issue which I was told “we only have one person today that can look at it” and was later told that he wouldn’t take a look, without any reasoning. I had to go to a different company to get my car diagnosed. As I stated before this is a occurring issue with the year make and model of my vehicle.
I bought this car through carvana. They mentioned it had no issues, after 6 months of driving I noticed the car is literally flooded inside and the electrical does not work well at all. I spent alot of money trying to fix the electrical including the wipers and ac yet both keep getting destroyed. Sometimes my traction system will go off and on and it's just so annoying how the water damage is eating away at a car I'm stuck overpaying for. It is a nightmare.

Evaporator kit has gone out, which causes the inability to defog the windows. During this last summer (2022), I regularly had to deal with 100+ degree weather, and during heavy rainstorms, just had to pull off the road and manually wipe down the window, which only increased visibility by about 50%.
1. Trunk would not open. (we had to get this fixed so we got it fixed. ) the wiring to the trunk was broken. Without a trunk that opens the convertible is pretty useless for anything but driving. Luckily we didn't have groceries inside when it stopped opening. I did call the Ford dealership (the 1st one) and was told to use the key to get it to open through the seats. The wiring was broken. Thank god no child had gotten in there! 2. 3rd brake light was not working. (we had to get this fixed so we got it fixed. ) this is a hazard with a lower car. Other cars don't see you stopping without this feature. 3rd brake light is also on that wiring harness and was fixed at the 2nd dealership. 3. Back-up camera stopped working. (we wanted to get this fixed however, the cost was more than we had at the time. ) it needs to be working. A person can see behind to back up. This is a safety issue for certain! we were told we would need to get another camera as it was also on the same wiring. This is a problem for backing up with a convertible that has a small window. If the top is down in good weather I can see, however,. . There is more driving done with the top up. 4. We also have had a problem with our heated/cooled seats. We were they were not on the same wiring. But, could be fixed for $$$. This was started last spring/summer. (2021) we have written Ford motor CO. And they said there weren't problems with any of these items and they wouldn't be fixing them. Yes, there is a problem with them and they should be fixed.
The backup camera is intermittently working on my car. The trunk also intermittently opens from both the fob and dash controls. Sometimes the trunk will not open at all. These are problems related to the wiring harness.
I have a 2017 Ford Mustang eco-boost which has a faulty rear view camera. The camera glitches with distorted image with moving horizontal lines. For this exact same issue Ford issued a manufacturer recall number22s06/22v082, but with a catch. In the recall report they mentioned that camera replacement will apply only for 2015 models. But this issue exists in 2017 models as well and Ford need to consider to recall those as well.
The rear view camera is intermittently displaying a blank or distorted image.
Vehicle's back up camera was only working intermittently, then stopped working all together. Error code (per dealership, c1001 I think but may be incorrect code) indicates a problem with the wiring that connects the camera to the center console.
The evaporator core has been notated in a service bulletin as being faulty. This merely causes the a/c to not work efficiently at face value. The real issue is the inability to properly defog/defrost the windshield in inclement weather, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive due to poor visibility that is not controllable by the operator of the vehicle.
The manual transmission is faulty, got it replaced under warranty and now again went bad but no more warranty. The ac compressor went out and evaporator core is bad(very common problem with 15-17 models), it causes windshield to fog up bad and can barely see at times when driving, very expensive to fix too.
I was traveling down the highway at approximately 60mph when the hood of the car flew up (came unlocked) it came into the driver's side windshield. The right side of the hood broke loose from the car and the hood wrapped around the drivers door making it impossible to exit the vehicle. There is a hood latch problem. I was able to exit the car through the passenger side.
The infotainment system (sync 3 w/ carplay) that came stock with my 2018 Mustang ecoboost recently stopped working. The car has 42k miles on it and is just over 2 years old. Sync 3 started to randomly lag (20-60 sec lag per button press), buttons became unresponsive (press not recognized at all), showed incorrect gps locations while using carplay (plugged in) with multiple map services, backup cam issues, and would cause bluetooth to disconnect randomly. I logged a complaint with my local dealership and brought it in for a diagnostic test. The dealership stated that the apim component needed replacement. The dealership noted this is common and plagues other models with the same apim. A quick google search verified this. My main concern is this: while using this system it can create many distractions while driving if the system is not responding as expected. Even the steering wheel buttons have a lag to them. One such scenario that caused great issue was adjusting the climate control during colder months when the windows/windshield fog up. When this happens, you can't see while driving. Typically, I can react quickly to get rid of the fog, but since this component is defective, the system did not respond and the fog had to be manually removed. Additionally, this component should not have to be replaced within 2yr of purchase of the car, since it is a computer. Ford offered to replace the apim component, for $1000 (warranty expired at time of diagnostic test). What is even more ridiculous is that they want to replace it with the exact same model number, which tells me in another 2yr I may have the same issue. This issue started up while I was in warranty (~30k mi), but seemingly went away until recently when the system has become practically unusable. Ford (corporate) also cannot provide any rationale as to why this is happening, per their customer service rep.
While I was driving I had my defroster on, and I noticed the passenger side started to fog up, but not the driver side. When I got to a red light, I felt the passenger side blowing cold air instead of hot air which caused me not to see well due to half the windshield being fogged up. After doing research, I found out that a lot of owners with 15-17 Mustangs have this issue and it has to do with the blend door actuator. I replaced that part and installed it and it worked for 2 days and went out again. As it gets colder I fear this is going to create more of a safety hazard. I truly feel that this should be a recall by Ford considering this is a safety function.
Back up camera began working sporadically, then quit completely. Dealer wants $440 to replace camera. Vehicle had only 28,145 miles.
Leaking water from inside of dash compartment and my carpet is all wet when it rains.

Rear view camera intermittently displays blank or distorted image.
This car was purchased on 4/27/19 brand new with 3 miles on it. As I was driving on 4/29/19 it was raining and as it began to rain harder, I adjusted the interval on the wiper switch to a higher speed and the wipers shut off and did not come back on. It continued to rain and I moved the switch up and down and nothing, they wouldn't come back on. I notified the dealer immediately and was asked to bring the car in for inspection on 4/30/19. They could not repeat the problem as it was not raining at that time and told me to come back again if it happens. On 7/12/19, it began to rain and I was on the highway and turned the wipers on and once again, as I tried to turn up the speed, they shut off and did not come back on. I had to drive 15 miles on the interstate with non-working wipers in the rain. I recorded the incident with my phone for evidence. Took the car back to the same service dept at gaudin Ford on 7/15/19. The service dept foreman and tech looked at the video. It is 7/17/19 and it is still at the dealer. They say it doesn't show any codes and they cant repeat the problem. Well it isn't raining, so how can they test it without driving through a car wash or something? I notified Ford customer relations on 7/16/19 of the issue and am waiting to hear back. As I stated, I have video evidence of this safety issue and they are not repairing it.

The ac on my Mustang has gone out 3 times causing my windshield to fog up and making it very hard to see through. From my understanding Ford already knows about this problem and the defective ac compressor and evap. I have been having problems with the ac since 20 thousand miles. I also have oil leaking onto my driver side floorboard from a bad master slave cylinder. This also started around 20 thousand miles and Ford did not want to warranty it even though the car was still under manufacture warranty. They said that it doesn’t fall under power tran warranty which does not make sense. This makes it unsafe to drive when your foot becomes slippery from oil. I also have rust all over my hood that Ford did not want to cover under their 5 year paint warranty. Very disappointed by Ford and the low quality product they knowingly put out.
This model has known issues with the a/c system. A defect in the evaporator core causes poor a/c performance, for which there is a posted TSB. I believe there is potentially a safety issue here which would warrant a recall. Since the refrigerant leaks into the cabin from the evaporator core, the windscreen forms a residue which obstructs driver visibility, especially when there is glare from the sun. Driver visibility is a factor in the probability of automotive accidents, therefore the commonly defective a/c system directly impacts the safety of this model. To maintain performance of the a/c system, it must be topped off. But visibility suffers and the windscreen must constantly be cleaned. Another safety issue is that refrigerant that is leaked is chronically inhaled by occupants of the vehicle. I'm not sure about the toxicity of r134a, but I can't imagine that it belongs in peoples lungs. If is it dangerous to do so, then I must reiterate, the commonly defective a/c system directly impacts the safety of this model. I sincerely hope that this issue gets more attention and a solution is proposed. Thank you and best regards.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that water entered the vehicle due to the windshield wipers when it rained. The failure caused the seats and floor to be soaked with water. The contact called crossroads Ford of kernersville, inc. At 877-331-8058 (located at 1330 nc-66, kernersville, nc 27284) and was informed to bring the vehicle to the shop. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
2016 Ford Mustang gt. Evaporator has failed twice (1st time @ 7k miles, 2nd time @16k miles). Each failure caused loss of ac, and resulted in a film building up on all interior window surfaces. Visibility was obscured when driving into the dealership to have serviced during second failure, most likely due to r-134a refrigerant leaking into passenger compartment?!?.
Rear view camera failure, when attempting to reverse the rear view camera will go blank, or get distorted . Because of this it severely diminishes rear visibility.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the headlights malfunctioned due to moisture build up. The contact stated that there was the failure of reduced visibility. Mike castrucci Ford of cincinnati, ohio 45150 was made aware of the failure and stated that the failure was considered normal by Ford. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the failure was normal and that it would be repaired on a "one-time gesture". The failure mileage was approximately 6,800. Ad.
