The fuel pump in my 2002 3. 8l Mustang stopped working. When I lowered the gas tank to replace it, I found that the plastic part the fuel pump/sending unit sets down into is offset from the hole and the fuel pump/sending unit can not be removed without breaking the part that it sets down into. So not only do I have to replace the pump, I have to buy an entire gas tank since that part comes pre-installed.

2016 Ford Mustang v6 convertible with 75,000 miles. I went into the gas station for 3 minutes, came out and car would crank but not turn over. Car needed to be towed to auto mechanic. Turns out the fuel pump was garbage. The car is only 4 years old. Ridiculous. Also, around 40,000 miles, it started to sound like I was driving a covered wagon, as every bump in the road made the car sound as if it was going to fall apart. The mechanic tells me 3 of the 4 control arms (suspension) are completely shot. Again, ridiculous. Junk car. I've had dozens of cars and many with well over 120,000 miles and never once have I dealt with a fuel pump nor control arms. Again, the car is only 4 years old. All parts for these 2 fixes have been on back order for a month. I must not be the only one dealing with these 2 issues. This needs to be a recall!.

Car stalled randomly while driving down the highway. Pressed the gas and would not do anything. Was able to pull in a lot to get out of traffic. Car would not start again. Full accessory power was active. Mechanic said fuel pump and module. Car has 46000 miles. Fuel pump should not fail in a 3 year old car.
Misfire when idle, when turns off after driving it won't start engine quick, need to let the fuel pump recharge a bit so it can start again.
Takata recalls: bought car at damerow Ford in beaverton or under the contingency that a 100 point check was done on the 2005 Ford Mustang gt that I am writing about. As I drive cqr off lot I notice gas gauge is stuck on half a tank. I call them about it and their service department after finding out there is a recall. . And they have not returned my calls. This was in August 2017. Now it is January 2018 and the check engine light is on and I take car in to a trusted mechanic and they say I have a leak near my fuel pump. I look this up and it is again a recalled item for this year and make. I again call Ford. No one returns my call. So I had to out of pocket to have this fixed. Please help.

My vehicle has failed without warning four times in the past 3 months. Once the vehicle fails it is in a no-start condition. Furthermore, there is random stalling when I'm driving the vehicle and the has been for quite some time. Once in the vehicle fails it will not restart. The first time my car failed was upon startup when I was at work for 4 hours. I came out to my car to start it and it would not start. The second time my vehicle failed it was without warning while driving in traffic, again would not start. The third time my car failed was like the first time after being at work for 4 hours, upon trying to start my car, it would not start. The 4th time my vehicle failed again without warning and this time I was merging on a busy highway during rush hour. Per the mechanics diagnostic - code p025a fuel pump driver module open circuit.

: the contact stated while using the fuel pumps at various service stations fuel would spill out. The fuel spills from the tank before the automatic shutoff. After inspecting the vehicle the dealership replaced the breather tube and the fuel tank. The problem continued to occur. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and was unable to remedy the problem. There are service bulletins for the fuel system, the manufacturer numbers are 05-15-12 and 06-3-13. The contact tried different gas pumps and different gas stations with the same results. Sometimes it is so bad that one cannot even get more than a couple gallons into the car, while having it spill and run down the side and on the underside of the car.
The contact stated while driving on the freeway vehicle stalled. She managed to get the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was then towed home because it was too late to have it towed to the dealership. The next morning the vehicle was towed to the dealership. The fuel pump module was changed. Repairs to the vehicle where made under warranty.
