1. There is a dreadful gas fume odor inside the car every time I put fuel in the car especially when I fill the tank. 2. The emergency brake does not work properly. When engaged my car still rolls a little. 3. The seat belts do not retract properly and tend to twist and tangle when I try to do it manually.

Tl-the contact owns a 2001 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while her daughter was putting fuel into the vehicle she notice fuel leaking from the fuel tank without warning. The contact managed to drive the vehicle to her residents where the vehicle resign at now. No dealer was contacted. The failure recurred. No diagnosed test was performed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000. Ck.
2015 Ford Mustang ecoboost is suffering from a fuel tank leak. Cel turned on while driving on freeway. There are no signs of undercarriage damage, but the evap on top of tank has a hairline crack. This is a faulty part as there has already been a recall for this same issue (NHTSA campaign #: 15v339000), but not all 2015 Ford Mustang ecoboosts are covered from previous recall. This leak may cause a potential fire if not tended to.

When I try to put gas in my car the car will only allow me to put half of a tank in the car and I have to force it to take more which as cause the gasoline to overflow even when the tank is not full. I have tried taking it to various gasoline stations all different brands to see if there are any differences but have not had any success. Also the vehicle is staionary. This originally happen in 2019 but it has happen every time since then. Also my reverse light will not turn off for some reason. Don't know why.

I recently bought the car to a close friend and as he already states to me before to buy a car there is a check engine light active, I went to a shop to find out what is wrong and the code alarm is p0456, small evaporators leak. An smoke test was performed and found out the gas tank has a blue fitting on top of it that is leaking out all the vapors. After the surprising new on a 2015 car I went by myself to inspect the fitting and find out the hose connection is good but the fitting coming out the tank has a crack allowing vapors to come out the tank and producing the alarm p0456. The alarm can be reset and after some days come back again.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the check engine light would remain illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer team Ford/Lincoln (545 drexle rd, las vegas nv. ) who diagnosed that the fuel tank was faulty due to a evaporation leak and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA recall campaign number 15v339000(fuel system). The failure mileage was 32,000. Jft.
This is just the recent event. Happens more the half the time when fueling vehicle. While stationary, newer model Mustang have a split fuel tank each holding eight gallons. One half on driver side , other half passenger side , under the back seats, the drivers side will fill and the passenger side will not take any fuel. The problem occurs while trying to fill the passenger side. The fuel spills on the ground . Which not only causes a fire problem , but maybe more importantly a serious environmental problem. I found out about this problem from googling it thinking I might be able to fix it or if I needed a new tank and or parts. What I found out was this a common problem with the split tank. Fire is a deadly and painful accident to happen. The environmental impact is permanent. Maybe it is an epa problem.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the fuel tank can not be fueled full, it only allows half a tank. The contact also stated that the vehicle was purchased from an individual 30 days ago. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnosis. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Bp.

The fuel gauge on my 2008 Ford Mustang has dropped to empty with the following error code: "dte fli data error: without a properly working fuel guage it is not known how much fuel is remaining in the tank and this leaves the driver and car prone to running out of fuel at driving speeds. A web search reveals this is a common issue in 05-09 Ford Mustangs and should be addressed by Ford motor company.

I purchased my 2005 Ford Mustang v6 automatic transmission in July of 2016. At the time of purchase everything seemed to be working fine but about a month later I noticed the fuel gauge was sitting at e so I attempted to fill it thinking I had an empty tank which meant I should have been able to put 14-16 gallons in and as I was refueling I noticed it kept shutting off even though I had just started the pump eventually I got it filled and only put in about 6 gallons which I thought was odd but I went with it and got back in my car started it up and noticed that the gauge was still sitting at e at that point I knew something was wrong but I figured it could wait since I knew how far I could potentially go on a full tank but then after I left and headed for home I noticed that my speedometer said I was going 60 but everyone was blowing past me at least 10mph faster when the speed limit was 60. So I pulled over and noticed that at a stop the speedometer came to rest at 35mph I was able to fix it but it kept happening I was lucky enough that I didnt get pulled over because I had no idea how fast I was going. Then for a while that stopped happening but every now and then and at an increasing rate the engine keeps stalling like its not getting enough fuel when I stop at an intersection or stop sign even though I had just filled the fuel tank the day before and hadn't driven more than 50 miles. The mileage at the time of the incidents beginnings was ~24,000 miles the current mileage is 34,000 as of 5/15/17.
When trying to fill the gas tank fuel backed out of the filler tube and would not enter the tank. Gas spilled out onto the ground.
Early in July 2015, I received from Ford motor corporate an "important safety recall" notice NHTSA recall 15v-339. When I got the notice which urges you to "call your dealer without delay"I called the dealership where I got my car, autonation Ford in torrance, California, the day after I got the notice. . I spoke to someone in the service department; they knew nothing about the recall; put me on hold; said they would have to call me back. To make a long story short, to date I have been getting the runaround from the dealership where I leased the car and the dealership recommended by Ford's customer relationship center I keep getting told the fuel tank shield isn't available whereas Ford customer service advises that it is available. . I have also called your NHTSA customer service number several times--again, put on hold, no call back although I left my number. No one to date has advised me when the parts would be available. I was contacted by a mark johnson yesterday from Ford customer service; , he could not give me a definitive answer re when the parts would be available although customer service had advised they were available. He also tried to defend the one dealership's position that it needed to see the car first to see if there was a fuel or vapor leak--excuse me but the whole point of the recall is so that the car won't develop a fuel or vapor leak!!! he said that at the same time that the safety recall notices are sent out, an email goes to all the dealerships advising them of recall and the parts needed: really? then why did neither of the dealerships I contacted know about the recall? the run-around I am getting is inexcusable: I live in a state with elevated temperatures and where friends can live long distances from each other: I want this defect fixed--now. Thank you for your attention to this matter. .
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Mustang. While driving approximately 20 mph, the fuel tank collapsed to the ground. No warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the bracket and bolts that secured the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 20,700. The VIN was not available.

The fuel filler neck grommet is leaking. According to Ford, it's a common problem, but. . . It causes a gasoline leak if I try to fill it over about 3/8 tank, and throws gas out, when I make a left turn. This is a fire/explosion waiting to happen. Ford should have to replace these with grommets that do not break down.

Fuel system problem: evaporative emissions system related failure, fuel fill neck failure (possibly at connection to fuel tank) and unknown other leak. Dealer claims not covered by California or federal emissions required warranty. Dealer reports seeing fuel filler neck problems on Mustang and other Ford vehicles. (possible concern for fuel or vapor leakage, safety related concern) Mustang uses "nascar" style fuel door that is clearly suspect, doesn't stay sealed tight, opens unexpectedly and allows raw fuel emissions into atmosphere. Prior software patch applied to ecm due to nascar style fuel door at 2,900 miles.

When at gas station you cant fill up the gas tank without it spitting the gas back out. Not even full when this is happening.
1 - engine makes horrible sound in cold weather. Also appears to be issue with electrical wiring harness which caused a fire. Very bad gas mileage - big change in decreased mpg. Have issues when trying to fill up gas tank where fuel gun filler wont allow me to fuel as the gas pump at most gas stations will immediately stop and kick out the fueller gun and spit gas out of my tank and spill on my car. There is also oil on my spark plugs and ports. 2 -powertrain - poor stability in driving and squeaky noises coming from rearend. I bought this car brand new and went through four automatic transmissions, first time at 800 miles on the odometer only. Ford replaced all defective transmissions while car was under warranty. Presently I am re-experiencing the same exact transmission problems. All defective transmissions had problems with the second and third gear to final inoperability causing the car to stop dead while driving. It caused an accident.

Automatictransmission has trouble shifting into low gear. Doesn't want to accelerate after stopping. Sounds as if it is stuck in a gear. Have read many complaints about this online and Ford just claims it isn't their problem. Also, all gauges quit working at approx 70,000 miles. Fuel system is terrible. Will not pump gas past half a tank and spits gas back out while pumping like its full. Causes pump to constantly shut off. All of these are incredibly dangerous and makes this car unsafe to drive.
Our 2005 Ford Mustang v6 started showing no fuel on the gauge approximated in June of 2013. At first it was random but now it never shows gas in the tank even when the tank is full. We keep track of the miles and keep it filled because we have no gauge. As of March 2014 the car has a check engine light on and has started to stop when at intersections. It acts like it has no gas. It is frightening when your car is sitting in busy traffic and won't move. So far it has started up after a few tries. We are very concerned after reading other Mustang owners have the same problem and Ford has done nothing to recall or try to help owners fix this issue.
Dash cluster stops working no fuel, temp, no speed. Sometimes everything stops working. If I restart car it seems to reset its self. When trying to fill up gas tank it won't allow fuel to go in shuts pump off splashes out, found that if I hold fuel nozzle upside down I can get some gas in but takes about 10-15 mins to fill tank. These problems occur every week. I have not received notice yet of recall for airbag. Ford should recall gas tank problem and dash clusters seems like 2005 years have issues!.
I am a senior that owns a 2006 Mustang convertible the gas tank fill has backed up on me twice causing a skin reaction dealer where I purchased car says there is nothing the matter it makes traveling very unsafe as I never know when tank will allow a fill-up Ford should help with a solution I may have to give my car up as there does not seem to be any interest in consumer complaints.
Lately when I try to fill up my 2006 Mustang the gas pump either automatically stops around 1/2 tank or gas gushes down the side of my car and on the ground when trying to fill it full. Definite fire hazard along with other safety issues. Looked up online and this seems to be a issue with thousands of Mustangs with the s197 gas tanks. Lets dont let a fire at a gas pump cost someones life before we make Ford fix this issue. Car is out of warranty so Ford will not fix.
I went to fill up my gas tank and after 12 gallons smelled gas everywhere and noticed gas racing out from under my car. There had to be atleast half a gallon surrounding my shoes and if there had been a spark I would have been burned to death. After researching this problem on the internet I found out that hundreds of other people that own Mustangs between the years of 1999 and 2004 have all had the same problem with what Ford calls a defective gas nozzle grommet. Not something the 1999-2004 Mustang is a stranger too. I remember the 1974 pinto and I owned one I really am uncomfortable with the thought that my Mustang is even more prone to explosions then my old pinto. Please pay attention to this matter before it becomes the next 1974 pinto. Yes I did have a "member of the annual pinto tailgate bbq party" bumper sticker on my pinto I would rather not have to get one of those stickers for my 2000 Mustang convertible. This has been and still is a on going safety issue to me and the family. When driving, normally at a low speed the engine will "die", of course I lose all power to the steering, braking, etc. I make an attempt to start it, it will start but, when I try to move the vehicle, it dies again. This has happen to me in the middle of intersections, when I pull up to a red light, or behind a vehicle. I have no forwarning of the event about to take place. Two weeks ago it occurred when my wife was driving and it took her about 40 minutes to get the car running. And yesterday while I was driving, after leaving my garage and drove less than 1/2 mile, the car stopped running, and I traveled about 2 miles and it stopped at least 5 times before I could park. We went shopping and came back out and it started and gave me no problem getting home. I have had it in the shop, r&r fuel tank, replaced fuel level sensor. Was told by one of the technicians I should treat the fuel at lease every two tank fill ups. My concern is that this is going to occur and cause an accident and injury my family and/or other drivers. I have contacted Ford and have been informed there is no recalls against the VIN number. I can not believe I am the only Mustang owner that is having the problem.
I was driving at night at around 30mph when everything electrical went dead in my car including headlights and dashboard but the engine was still running. I was able to drive the car home but could not start it the next morning. Had to flat bed it to the dealership where they told me the whole computer system failed and had to be replaced. This happened 3 more time since then. Each time I was charged $3000 to have it replaced. It shouldn't happen once let alone 3 times. Another recent problem, my engine caught fire causing everything on the left side of my car to be replaced. Ford denied any "real problems they could find". Also had my gas tank replaced twice because it wouldn't fill up. And to add to everything, my gearshift needs to be replaced because a little plastic piece that hides the holes when u shift up or down, broke. $600 estimate at Ford. As well as my engine smoking after driving for 2 hours at 65-70 mph. Do not buy a Ford. Iv'e spent over $12k fixing the problems that I never caused. Ford refused to pay a dime or take any responsibility. Too many problems causing unsafe situations for me as well as other drivers and pedestrians around me. ## VIN failed ##.
Every time you go to put fuel in the car, the pump will kick off like the fuel tank is full but it's not. Then the whole time you are trying to pump gas it will kick off probably 20 more times until you are done. This is been ongoing every since the car was purchased. What should be a five minute job to fill up your gas tank can take as much as 20 minutes. Ihad another 2007 Ford Mustang that did the very same thing but I ran off a low shoulder and part of the estimate was that I had to replace the gas tank and ironically I never had that issue again on that car. I owning 2 of this specific cars being of the same year make and model, I feel it's definitely a design or recall issue that needs to be addressed.
Can't fill the gas tank as it can't be pumped on pulling the gas nozzle all the way. I have to pull the nozzle one pull at a time to get gas in and gas splashing back on me and car. I have wasted a lot of gasoline doing this and a lot of time th get it to a 1/2 a tank if I'm lucky. There should be a recall or dealer fix.
Unable to fill fuel tank. Pump kicks off after a few seconds and will not fill tank. Dealer replaced gas tank per Ford tech line. Problem was gone for about 1 month now having trouble again at certain gas stations. Dealer called Ford tech line again and was told that I would have to use gas stations that worked for filling gas tank and also was told the enginers at Ford were no longer working on this issue. There is another person in the area with the same car having the same problem. If you would like his information please contact me.
On 2/3/04 I filled up the gas tank on my 1997 Ford Mustang gt. I then drove 2-3 miles to work. On the way to work I smelled a gasoline odor. When I pulled into the parking lot of my office the smell was very strong. Upon exiting my car I saw gasoline streaming out of the bottom of the car. I had the car towed to gwinnett place Ford. They called back and told me that the grommet where the filler neck enters the gas tank had dry rotted and failed. This repair cost over $300 excluding towing. Had someone behind my car tossed out a cigarette or a spark occurred, there would have been a large fire endangering both myself and other motorists. I contacted Ford about this incident and their customer service representatives were very abrupt and rude about taking responsibility for this severe safety issue.
