1 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 02/19/2026

Went to clay cooley Ford in arlington TX off of highway 360 to have rearview camera issues fixed after being sent a recall notice to take it in to be repaired. The vehicle doesn’t show a black screen all of the time but it is at times distorted or black. Upon arriving my husband was told that one they don’t have the camera for the vehicle mind you an appointment was made I didn’t just show up and two because at this present moment the screen wasn’t showing distorted or black screen they were not able to repair the recall we were given a paper to contact a man who works at the dealership the vehicle camera wasn’t thoroughly inspected, just asked if it was doing it now when my husband said not right now but it does show a black or distorted screen sometimes he was sent on his way and told the repair couldn’t be done. I have reached out to Ford customer service to get their help with getting this recall resolved because I do transport a child in this car daily to and from school.

2 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/13/2025

The auxiliary display that contains the rear camera view failed on several occasions even after the software installation from Ford to fix the failure of this display. The aural alert for cross traffic and pedestrian warning still functions, however, without the display I do not know what is behind or beside the car and from which direction it is coming from when backing out of blind parking spot (between two trucks in the last case). The Mustang is currently being inspected by the local dealer again.

3 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

My vehicle had a recall: Ford recall 22s06 involves 2015-2017 Ford Mustangs due to a potential issue with the rearview camera. The wiring for the rearview camera may be loose or damaged, causing the camera to display a blank or distorted image. This can reduce the driver's visibility behind the vehicle, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. The dealership at Ford chapman automobile claims the issue is fixed but they never fixed anything on my backup camera. It was blinking and they said it is normal for this vehicle. My backup camera is not working and they are refusing to fix it. I have contacted Ford but they also refer to the report from the dealership and say according to the dealership the problem is fixed and there is nothing that could do. My car has very limited visibility and this causes problems when backing up.

4 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/12/2024

Reverse camera occasionally fails to load/display markings about car position, including rear cross traffic alert. Has happened two times, one prior to the instrument recall fix and one after the fix had been applied to my car. Prior to the recall being fixed, the rear cross traffic alert would still work.

5 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/04/2024

Dashboard screen visually displaying backup camera, ventilation controls, radio, etc goes blank intermittently without warning. Other 2024 Mustangs have been recalled for this issue.

6 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/04/2024

The instrument panel cluster (ipc) may not illuminate at startup or while driving.

7 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/03/2024

In March 2023 safety recall 22v082000 (Ford number 22s06) was performed to fix a rear view camera malfunction. During the March 2023 work, only the wiring harness was replaced. My belief was that the actual camera should have been replaced as well. Replacing the wiring harness in March 2023 fixed the issue for 13 months, and then the issue re-occurred. Dealership charged $230 diagnosis fee to tell me that the issue was the camera and now the replacement of the camera cost me the $230 diagnostic fee; the $75 part fee for the camera; and the labor to replace the camera - total bill out of pocket $530. I was informed after calling the main Ford customer service number that my 2016 Mustang was not part of the camera recall (only the wiring harness). Camera was only covered with 2015 Mustang. Seems odd to me that they make that distinction between model years but it is the same camera and obviously failed on my vehicle. As a major safety concern I believe Ford has failed to support their customers regarding this issue, and a second recall is warranted for the camera portion on 2016 models as well.

8 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2021 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/15/2023

Rear view camera is not working and the infotainment display is freezes up every time after starting the vehicle. The entire infotainment system is inoperable until next ignition cycle. The key saftey concerns is rear view camera doesn't work at all. This is huge issue to drive and park the car safely. Problem is happening for past one month and could not able to use the vehicle safely. Ford service is very bad and cant event schedule a service to check the issue. Trying all options. This problem has been happening for 3-4 months intermittently and past 6 weeks its happening always.

9 Rearview System Braking problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/13/2021

Ford motor company and the NHTSA issued a recall on 2/15/2022 on my 2016 Ford Mustang model vehicle a few months ago. It was "back over prevention: sensing system: camera". Recall no. 22v082000. Also, recall number: 22s06 decklid wiring universal camera fretting corrosion. Ford sent me a letter on 2/17/2022 alerting me of the recall indicating that a resolution to this issue would come about early in the second quarter of 2022. It feels like we're now approaching quarter 3 of the year and I have yet to be notified of repairs and my rear view camera is now completely not functioning at all. When I've searched recently for this recall, there is no longer any more information on the Ford website, nor the NHTSA website. I find that completely bizarre. I'd love to car the proper repairs immediately being that Ford guaranteed that it would be repaired accordingly to resolve the recall issue. Can you please look into why this recall has disappeared from your website, from Ford's database, and please help me get my car repaired>.
