5 Sensing System Camera problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 01/05/2024

I received this recall for my backup camera a couple years back and I tried to get it fixed because mine had stopped working so I went when I was off from work to avoid being carless. The Ford dealership in yuma az didn't get the part in time after having my vehicle for a week. I was unable to complete the recall and when I called a couple months later to try to reschedule they told me the recall number had been closed. Therefore my vehicle could no longer be fixed. My rear backup hasn't worked since. Is there anyway to get this situated? I tried going within a reasonable timeframe from getting that letter but they later cancelled the recall somehow.

7 Sensing System Camera problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/20/2023

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a recurring issue with the rear camera system in my 2020 Ford Mustang. When attempting to engage the rear camera while reversing, a persistent blue screen obstructs the view, posing a significant safety hazard. After conducting thorough research, I have discovered that this problem is not isolated to my vehicle alone. Instead, it appears to be a widespread issue affecting numerous owners of Ford Mustangs. It has come to my attention that the root cause of this malfunction is attributed to faults within the wiring harness of the Mustang models. What is deeply concerning is that despite the prevalence of this issue and its potential implications for driver safety, Ford motor company has yet to initiate a recall to address and rectify the problem. It appears that there is a conscious decision to restrict the recall, leaving countless Mustang owners vulnerable to accidents and unnecessary risks. As a responsible consumer and advocate for road safety, I implore the NHTSA to investigate this matter urgently and compel Ford to take appropriate action. It is imperative that Ford acknowledges the severity of this defect and assumes responsibility by issuing a comprehensive recall to rectify the faulty wiring harnesses in all affected vehicles. Failure to address this issue promptly not only undermines consumer trust but also jeopardizes the well-being of drivers and pedestrians alike. I trust that the NHTSA will prioritize this complaint and take decisive steps to ensure the safety and welfare of all motorists. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I eagerly await your response and resolution.

Owners may also call Ford at 866-436-7332. Nhtsa campaign number: 22v082000. Ford’s number for this recall is 22s06.

Failure Date: 02/10/2022

2018 with 24,000 miles (purchased brand new) every morning until the car warms up I dont have navigation, radio, bluetooth, or back up camera's. I was told this was a common problem with Ford from the dealership but its not a recall. After researching online, its a very common problem with all makes and models of Ford. Of course I'm out of warranty to replace the apim which is going to cost 1,000 out of pocket. Safety concerns: I have to navigate using my phone which is a distraction while driving, same thing with phone conversation I can be hand free, and I have a major blind spot while backing up because of no camera.

Recently, the camera on my 2015 Mustang has not been connecting regularly. The display will occasionally say the camera is not available, contact dealership. In researching it appears that the wiring to the camera and other associated trunk area lighting can be cut or worn through, creating a defective and potentially dangerous situation.
