One problem related to car accelerates on its own has been reported for the 1999 Ford Ranger. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Gas pedal sticks, mostly after first starting vehicle, consumer has to step on pedal hard to get it unstuck. Then, it will lurch forward, rpms will stay at about 2000 after that. Dealer unable to remedy problem. Dealer attempted to fix problem, however vehicle is still experiencing sudden acceleration and dealer can not duplicate problem.
