Frame is very rusted and big holes in the frame. I think there is a gas leak as well but the frame is very bad.
Rusted out straps and mounts to the gas tank and other major rust damage to the underside of truck do not know if should repair or not.
I am upset that this tire shop sold me tires that have been discontinued. I paid 312. 00 for two tires and when I went to buy two more I was told they were discontinued. Their is no warranty except a manufacturers warranty. I wanted to get all 4 the same. That is my complaint.
Rear frame of truck has rusted so much that spare tire fell off while driving, and has a hole near rear driver's side leaf spring shackle and will not pass NY state inspection.
This is my mothers pickup but she asked me to report it and try to find an answer. She has had the pickup for years (she bought it in 2003). . . She bought it from a neighbor. After a few years she started having a problem that no one (not even the dealership) has been able to fix. This has happened many, many times. Sometimes when she goes to stop, the truck will suddenly rev up and try to take off. Several times this has almost caused accidents (it has jumped out into traffic, almost rear ended other cars, etc). I've contacted the Ford company and they have told me to go to the dealership. We done that with nothing resolved. Several parts have been replaced and they have updated the computer, but it still does it. This is my mom's only vehicle and she is scared to drive it, but can't sell it with this kind of problem. We have had the sensor replaced, throttle cable replaced, cruise control cable checked, checked for a vacuum leak. Thank you.
1999 Ford Ranger 3. 0 v6 frame is completely rotted and falling apart frame of a truck that has been parked in a gradge its entire life and only driven in snow and rain but parked indoors and very well taken care of and my entire frame is shot! something has to be done about this issue I've seen many people with the same issue and Ford should do something about it I can literally poke it with my finger and poke a hole thou the frame. . . And to make it worse I've been driving it without knowing how bad it was til the back bumper fell off today in traffic and had another car smash it !!!! not happy with Ford! then when I got home I crawled under the truck and found that the frame is about to fold in the middle behind the cab. . . No remind you I'm a detailer and clean my truck religiously every single day and park in a gradge every day and every night!.
The frame is rotting away and I am afraid of it now. It is about to break.
Severe frame rusting, bed has severe rust, rear leaf spring shackles rusted out and had to be replaced at my expense. Vehicle is nearly unusable and unsafe at 112,000 or so miles.
My 1999 Ford Ranger frame is rusting in several location which will make it very unsafe the body looks brand new but the front frame and rear frame are rusting away. The shocks on the front right side are about the break through the support and the upper control arm is about the break off.
Upon inspection mechanic said "shackles , frame, leafsprings, all rusted and truck will not last. Motor runs great, body no rust.
Took to get inspected mechanic said frame was in bad shape. I had 5 different people tell me it was beyond repair.
This winter while washing the undercarriage of my 1999 Ranger, I noticed the frame at the drivers side rear shock mount is rusted through. After further inspection, I see that the frame at the rear bumper mounts is also severely rusted. The bed supports that run perpendicular to the frame are also severely rusted.
Wv state inspection found the rear frame and spring hangers rusted to the point of rendering the truck unsafe. The rest of the truck is rust-free and in great condition.
I have seen multiple 99 Ford Ranger, and every one I have seen is rusted out. Frame, rear bumper & bed. There are other places rusted but not as bad as the frame, rusted in half, rear bumper fell off going down the road, other thinga that bolt under the bed fell out.
Requested to have governor (speed limiter) removed from vehicle, Ford dealership will not remove. Consumer wants governor (speed limiter) removed because it allows the speedometer to exceed at a speed of only 90 mph, dealer declined removal stating that the speed limiter is a safety feature.
