Front Air Bag problems of the 1999 Ford Ranger

After hitting a deer at 45 mph a white powered smoke came out of the front air bag when deployed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

While sitting in traffic the vehicle accelerated without warning and both airbags deployed without contact with another vehicle. The driver had the vehicle towed to the dealer for analysis.

While driving 45 mph vehicle was hit on the right driver's side. Neither side or frontal air bags deployed upon impact.

During a head on collision at 45 mph airbags did not deplpoy, causing serious injuries. Airbag is under 5 year / 50,000 mile warranty.

While driving 5 mph another vehicle driving 4o mph hit consumer's vehicle on front end. Upon impact, neither airbag deployed. Vehicle was totalled, consumer suffered minor injuries.

While travelling on interstate 25 northbound near albuquerque, rear axle broke on the right rear of the vehicle. Right rear wheel with wheel & part of axle separated, causing multiple rollover of the vehicle. Driver was severely injured and the truck was totalled. No air bags deployed in the vehicle although there was significant front end impact on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Consumer's husband had a head-on collison and passenger's seat belt failed to deploy.

Air bags diployed at a speed of less than 10 mph and the front bumper was never touched.

Having heard so much about the safety of airbags I was very surprised not to have either of the airbags in my truck deploy when I was involved in the traffic accident on 6/21/00. I was traveling between 40 and 45 mph when someone pulled out, from a stop sign, directly in front of me. I was unable to react, it happened so quickly. The other driver was sited by a police that witnessed the accident.

While driving up hwy 20 in town I had the front right tire/rim/brake assembly separate from the axle causing the vehicle to collide with a rock in the side of the hill. Hitting the rock had sent me back into the highway on the vehicles two left tires. Both airbags had deployed and when the vehicle came to a halt on all three tires I got out of the truck to find the right front tire/rim/brake assembly approximately 15 feet behind the vehicle. I now own a three wheeler that Ford or the dealership will not admit that there was some sort of a flaw or defect.

While driving on a two lane rural route, traveling 10mph a der ran out in front, vehicle swerved to avoid hitting the deer, and hit a tree instead. Upon impact, neither airbags deployed. Contacted dealer.

Airbags deployed unexpectedly while driving. Dealer has inspected vehicle, and manufcturer has been notified.

Vehicle was involved in a minor collision. Upon impact, airbags deployed, injuring the driver. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

Vehicle was involved in a bumper collision at 5 or less mph. Upon impact, both air bags deployed and started to burn, causing burns on left inner forearm and wrist areas. Dealer / manufacturer were not contacted at this time.

Owner had to hit brakes due to a vehicle in front of him coming to a dead stop while driving 50 mph. Truck went into a skid, and struck vehicle in front. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. Numerous amout of front damage from hood to coolant system, etc. Please describe details.
