Brake Electric Antilock problems of the 2000 Ford Ranger

: the contact stated abs engaged intermittently while stopping. The brake pedal was depressed several times before the vehicle began to slow down. No repairs have been made.

I was driving on a secondary road at approximately 35 - 40 mph and as I came to the crest of a downhill section, I lightly touched the brakes due to snow on the road. The truck veered violently to the left and went into a skid. I corrected and again lightly touched the brakes and the truck again veered violently to the left and I was unable to correct before the truck left the roadway and struck a large tree stump. The truck is awaiting insurance adjustment decision on repair.

Consumer states the abs brakes don't work. Took vehicle to the Ford service department and they didn't know what the cause of the problem was. . Consumer had both the back and front brakes replaced. When driving down a hill the vehicle won't stop.

Torions should of been put on instead spring brakes were put on.

Intermittently when brakes are applied pedal goes to the floor, causing extended stopping distance. Dealer has been notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

Brakes would pulsate when applying them. Thus, resulting in extended stopping distance. Contacted dealer, and the dealer took a look at brake system, and noted that it was consumers fault for brakes being defective.

Brakes are defected, and when applying brakes pedal goes all the way down to floor. Dealership is aware of problem.

When brakes were applied under normal conditions pedal went to the floor, causing extended stopping distance, and once resulting in a collision. Dealer has inspected brakes, and was not able to duplicate or correct problem. Dealer changed brake booster.

While driving about 35 mph stepped on brakes pedal and vehicle would slow down a little, but won't stop when getting close to the object in front.

Brakes would lock up when first applied after sitting at night during rainy weather.

Vehicle pulled to the right when brakes were applied. Dealer notified, and made some repairs. Currently, vehicle was still pulling to the left. Dealer notified again, and was unable to resolve the problem.

While attempting to stop truck, I applied the brakes gentaly, truck shook violently and pulled to the left, almost causing an accident with another vehicle.

Vehicle pulled to the right or left when applying brakes in a sudden/emergency situations. Also, pedal pulsated when applying brakes, and became worse when applying brakes at higher speed. Vehicle has been in dealer's shop. Dealer informed consumer that nothing could be found.

Was driving 55mph & vehicle would drift left when brakes applied. Took to dealer & nothing found. Drove some more & problem was getting worse. Took it back & service manager indicated problem was with the brakes. It was drifting left. Also, would drift when steering was released & shaking. Tires were found out of balance. Firestone, wilderness atx, 0235/75r15. Right front tire went flat & was informed ran over a nail, but it could not be produced.

When abs brake system is activated, headlights/ horn and windshield wipers become inoperable, cause unknown. Consumer stated the dealer replaced the ignition but the problem still exists.

Vehicle pulls to left when braking at low speeds dealer did aligment , disassembled brakes, and inspected them, but defect stills occurs. The misalignment caused wear on left front tire. Alignment was done twice and consumer was taking back the vehicle for another alignment.
