Ford has known for several years that Ford Rangers (2010) have defective air bags. Two years ago koons Ford in annapolis replaced my driver's side air bag. Now my driver's side air bag needs to be replaced (now), yet Ford won't give me a date when work can be completed. Koons Ford in annapolis says Ford told them they are not providing replacement airbags for Ford Rangers now or in the near future. Ford also told me directly "they have no idea" when Ford Ranger air bags will be replaced. This safety driving health hazard has gone on long enough. I shouldn't have to drive a car with a defective air bag year after year, after year, since ownership. Please email me back letting me know you contacted Ford and a "date" they will do "legally required repair work", thank you.
I keep receiving a recall letter for this vehicle. We took it in to our local dealer and they told us that the vehicle has been reconstructed with older parts and that part of the vehicle is a 2010 and part is a 2005. They said the airbag will not fit because that part of the vehicle is 2005. I think there are two VIN numbers of various parts of the vehicle. What should I do?.
Takata airbag, I received my recall notice from Ford, I called their phone number on Dec. 10, 2018 for assistance, as we do not have a local dealership on our island in alaska. I was forwarded to kendall Ford in anchorage. On Jan. 2,2019 forwarded me to kendall Ford in wassilla ak. On Jan. 4,2019 I was advised to provide my mechanic here in ketchikan the recall info, I did, and have him order the parts, I would have to pay for installation, then forward the invoice to kendall Ford in wassilla for reimbursement. Feb. 26,2019 called my mechanic, he stated he had got any response. Feb. 28, receved call from mechanics office, she had talked to kendall Ford in wassilla, informed no procedure in place yet for remote locations, but expected something in place within a month or so. She asked me to call her on Apr. 1,2019 unless she called before that. 1apr. Called mechanics office, I was informed she had talked to kendall Ford in anchorage on Mar. 29,2019. She stated that one air bag would be shipped for them to install as a trial, and that she hoped to have more info in 2-3 weeks. Apr. 5,2019 I called kendall Ford in wassilla was told it should not be this hard and that the handling of the recall in remote sites had been transferred back to kendall Ford in anchorage, ak. So I am no closer to getting my truck fixed than I was in Dec> 2018. Ford is failing at this.

Military service member transferring to south korea. Parts to fix my recall are not available and not expected to arrive until 3rd quarter of this year. I will be transferring this month. The organization which ships vehicles will not ship vehicle with any existing recalls on it. Fords lack of support will now force me to sell my truck which I just bought and possibly loosing 6k as a result. I have presented the solution that I can drive to a location where the parts are available but Ford is not cooperating.

Takata recall even though I got the airbag recall repair notice that a part was available for my vehicle and to contact the dealership immediately there is no part available for my vehicle and no one can say when there will be a part available. I called the Ford dealership on the Monday after I got the notice the first business day that I could call them I was told that I was put on a list and that the part was specific to my VIN number and the part would be ordered and it would be there in 2 to 3 weeks from Ford. After 3 weeks I called back to find that my name was not recorded at all it's as if I had never called and no it was not specific to my VIN and they just came in batches and went down the list and when they got to me they get ahold of me. I waited another couple of weeks and then called the number on the recall notice for further assistance and that lady could just said that she has no more information than the dealership. That they also don't know when the part is coming, however yes it is specific to my VIN. So if it is VIN specific and I got the letter saying for my VIN there is a part available why can no one say when a part will come. I feel that getting this letter from Ford is just filling some requirement that they had legally when really nothing has changed and my vehicle will not get repaired. So that is my complaint and my question to your organization- is it true if I got a letter saying a part is available for my specific VIN that there should be one available for my vehicle? thank you for your time in answering this. I'm sure you have many thousands maybe tens of thousands of such inquiries.
