The frame is rusting away. Both leaf spring shackles rusted completely through, muffler hangers all rusted off lost my muffler on a road.
Frame rusted out.
Serious structural frame rust affecting areas related to suspension (shocks, brackets/shackles of leaf spring) while the rest of the truck, including the body is generally unaffected by any serious rust.
Frame rot. . . The frame has rusted from the inside-out in the same place on both sides of the vehicle: under the most-front part of each door (keep in mind this is the frame I'm talking about, not any kind of door support or framing. . . This is the section of body frame that is located underneath each door on the vehicle). The frame has rusted and begun to split horizontally (the length of the vehicle) and vertically (from the ground-up). When lifting the vehicle in certain places, the frame can be seen bending, obviously. Because of this I can only jack/lift the vehicle from the very front. . . All other places that I've tried to lift from result in too much weight being put on those weak points. I am now very seriously considering a new frame, which is a lot of money. . . Or, at the very least, a lot of time and effort to pull a frame off of a vehicle from a junkyard, then put it on my vehicle (or rather, put my vehicle on it). Frame failure could result in catastrophe or death, and this frame is in very bad shape compared to most vehicles it's age (and many that are older).
The rear part of the frame rotted bad. . The spare tire hold fell off first. . Then not long after the rear bumper fell off on hiway . . After close inspection. . The frame is brittle like a saltine cracker. . . Plus the rear spring shacle rusted before an hed replaced. . . Actually my son was driving my truck when the bumper fell off. . . Taking rear tail pipe with it. . . When the spare tire holder fell off the day before. . It took all the emission stuff along with it. . This truck has only 150,000 miles on it . . The frame is rusted bad. . Never been in salt water. . I have trucks older than this with solid frames when 25 years old. . . . I have read on forums here after this happened and seems its a common thing with some year Rangers,,,t4ruck is in a1 shape but now useless due to poor quailty steel.
Frame rusted into.
Rear spring hangers rotted and failed and both sides of frame rusted bad. . Spare tire holder rusted rotted and broke letting spare tire and rear bumper to drop down. I caught it before it made it to the road. We were on the road when the right hand side came down. Left side happened a year before the right side[estimate].
Going over a bump on city street leaf spring broke. Frame around radiator is completely rusted away. Under body frame rusted as well.
The contact owns a 1999 Ford Ranger. While the vehicle was being inspected, the mechanic noticed that the subframe was rusted. The vehicle was repaired; however, the frame fell off. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Lower control arm body frame mounts rust on both sides . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Truck exhibited a clunk noise from left rear when traversing a bump in the road. I took it to the dealership where I bought it new and have had all maintenance and repair work done. Service manager said no repair was possibleframe rust was so bad a new leaf spring, etc. Could not be attached and it was unsafe to drive. See attached invoice. I had the truck towed to my home and it has not been driven since. (date of occurrence is approximate. It became worse as time went on and occurs at any speed. ).
The whole underbody and frame is rusted and rotted. The leaf spring shackles have rusted and rotted away.
Frame is rusting out even though the rest of the truck looks great . The truck has not been driven in winter because I have a work car with front wheel drive that I use for this and the frame on that vehicle is in better condition than my Ranger. We have owned the truck since 2002 and it's a 1998 model.

Rusty frame,.
Entire frame rusted out. Won't pass inspection. Obviously an ongoing problem. Driver side behind cab to bumper very bad. It is actually allthe way into. We got it on a line of credit. We are out of 5000. 00 . Rest of truck is really nice.
Rear half of frame excessive corrosion. Frame, spring mounts, spare tire rack and main frame members rusted away affecting structural integrity. Corrosion is significantly worse than would be expected for this age vehicle. Rear spring mounts dangerously corroded.
Frame and frame supports have rusted quickly over the last few years. More than I would expect.
Spring shackle support on rear of truck on drivers side of truck rusted completely off the frame and was replaced in the summer of 2015 , the other side was also replaced at the same time. Spring pushed thru the truck bed. Frame on rear drivers side of vehicle has rusted thru. Spare tire holder rusted off causing spare tire to fall off somewhere while driving down the road. Bed rail supports are rusted thru into the interior of the truck bed. Rear shock body's are rusted off, shock supports rusted badly other places on the truck frame are rusted very bad also pictures are attached !!!!.
My frame is rusting out! I was having problems filling my gas tank so I brought it in to the shop to find that where the gas tank supports attached to the frame had rusted out. My gas tank was hanging on by a thread. I had to have the whole thing removed, repaired, and replaced.
Frame rusted through.
Frame rusted-took it to be repaired. Was told it is not reparable. Too rusty and far gone to fix. Take it off the road. Not safe to drive. The rest of it is still in good shape.
