2024 Ranger raptor built in December of 2024 with 1,750 miles on it. The rubber trim around the sliding rear window appears to have melted from the in glass defroster overheating. It is now duct taped to keep water from leaking into the cab.

The blend door for hvac controls sticks, makes clicking noises. From time to time it will stick in one position, for example cabin, when I need defrost, making it difficult to see safely potentially.

High beam lights failed on, the hi-lo beam switch in turn, hazard, wiper combo switch later overheated, burn up, smoke in cabin causing complete loss of lamps, wipers at night in rain. Clearly a common issue based on web. If you are going to send full load current with no control relays force a higher standard on design margins and and mttf. You have (4) head lamps on a car no reason a design should be allowed to cause all (4) to failure. Force multiple relays, modules, and contacts, wiring circuits and fuses. Also fix the blinding headlight issues. I see almost no difference between lo and hi beams on new cars and see spots for 30 seconds after passing cars on lo. Set standards and force certs on every new head light design. Dot/NHTSA should be liable for any crashes related to being blinded with headlights.

Early model 2019-2020 Ford Rangers have a known defect where the blend door actuator fails. The assembly was redesigned mid 2020 and is now the common fix for all who are affected by this issue. During this failure the blend door cannot and will not actuate as it should causing in ability to defrost the windshield causing visibility issues. Additionally, it causes unbearable heat to be released inside the vehicle with no warning causing additional safety issues for drivers and passengers. The issue is widely observed for all owners of early generations. Even though Ford has known about the issue that forced an entire redesign they are unwilling to recall the defective component. I have contacted their corporate office and was informed there is no support for this issue. Today, while driving the system on its own changed to defrost, half of the windshield could be seen through, the other half could not due to variations on both sides which also caused condensation to form.
Known issue with 2019 Ford Rangers where they've issued a safety recall on some, but not all Rangers in that year. Related to ssm 49264: 2019-2020 Ranger - climate control temperature will not adjust with clicking/snapping noise from the dash - built on or before 30-Jul-2020. Related to recall 19s34. Climate control temperature system failed and would not adjust. A clicking/snapping noise was present under the dash when attempting to control climate and defrost. Ford verified the failure of the climate control system and stated that I the original owner, andrew luke, must personally pay for labor and parts to replace the climate control housing assembly to resolve the failed climate control system and achieve functional defrost. The vehicle went in for inspection at jim click Ford (6244 e 22nd st; tucson az 85711; +1-520-570-7301) on the March 29th, 2023 and the repair was completed on April 4th, 2023 (Ford part number 18478). The vehicle had 29,634 miles on it at the time of repair. The issue is identical to that described in “ssm 49264: 2019-2020 – climate control temperature will not adjust with clicking/snapping noise from the dash – built on or before 30-Jul-2020”.
My vehicle's heater stopped working mid-drive. I heard a loud pop sound and then the air that came out of the vent was room temperature. I pulled over and stopped the vehicle. Waited a minute and restarted it. The temperature did not change. I was driving on highway 80 over donner pass in the sierra mountains. The temperature was very cold and my window began fogging up. I then had to continue my drive by wiping my windshield from the inside with a rag every 15 seconds or so to maintain visibility enough to drive. As the snow was coming down and it was getting dark, I needed to keep going as it would have been too cold to stay in the vehicle and wait out the storm. Now, driving the vehicle is hazardous because I do not have proper defrosting capability. I took it to a dealership and they estimated roughly $4000 in repairs to fix the issue. The car is barely 3 years old.
There is a known issue with 2019 and some 2020 model year Ford Rangers. The Ford ssm is #50629. I have been waiting for a Ford service center to fix this issue for 3 months. This issue does not allow for the heater to work properly. Because of that, the defroster and defog doesn't work. This allows for limited or zero visibility through the windshield and side windows in winter conditions that require defrost or defog. I have to had to pull over and scrape ice off my windshield on short trips. Also, this winter has had some of the coldest days on record. Reaching in the -20f range. Having no heat at a time like this could possibly result in frostbite or hypothermia. I use my vehicle as sparingly as possible this winter, but there are times I absolutely need to drive around.
It looks like on some 2019 Ford Rangers (mine included), there is a faulty blend door in the heater box assembly. Note this issue is not present in other model years due to Ford correcting the defective part. This defective part causes the switch between hot and cold air to fail. My truck got stuck on hot and the dealer replaced it under warranty. The replacement has now failed 6 months (3000) miles later. This issue can prevent the heat from functioning properly in cold weather, which means the defrost is ineffective - requiring the driver to manually clear the windshield. The issue is that Ford a) knows there is a defect that can impact the safe operation of the vehicle b) these vehicles would likely be covered under the manufacturer warranty due to low miles from 2020 (covid) but has not made efforts to notify owners of the defect c) will gladly charge $3,000-$4,000 for this repair once the warranty expires (which has happened for many 2019 vehicles by this point). Profiteering on a known factory defect is unacceptable!.
I was stopped at a red light, not moving, and the rear window completely shattered, the entire window, except the small center slider.

The passenger side front window is developing several snowflake like defects in between the glass. These are three to four inches in diameter and impede the side vision of the vehicle. Ford is refusing to replace the glass. This is a safety hazard and needs to be investigated. The size grows an 1/8 inch a day and does not stop. The spot in the picture is nearly double in size now.
Thousands of tiny specs in windshield obscure visibility in certain light - morning, late afternoon. Happens suddenly and could cause inability to see incoming car or pedestrian, bicycles!! very frightening. Research online reveals many have this problem with windshields. This is a brand new truck. I believe it is a defect in the windshield on this vehicle and others. Could cause loss of life as visibility is greatly reduced and it happens suddenly in the light conditions described above during routine driving. These specks can also be seen when vehicle is stationary in the conditions noted. It is especially frightening if it happens in an intersection, while turning, etc.
The windshield and rear window are wavey, making objects blurred. I've had the truck to the dealer, they tell me they never noticed it before. I looked at the 2021 Ranger pickups and they have the same problem. The larger pickups don't have the problem. It makes it hard to read signs and traffic.
Driver's side window has a fun-house distortion in the glass. This makes looking out the window, including looking in the side-view mirror, difficult and affects the user's attention and incites nausea and dizziness. This is a 2nd replacement, as the first window was defective as well. Replacement is pending, as Ford is dragging their feet on the 2nd defective glass.
I bought a 2019 Ford Ranger on August 4, 2019 and the truck vibrates shakes while driving and the windshield window a loud noise like air its coming in and feels like its going to explode. The more speed the more vibration and noises it makes. I do not feel safe driving this truck at all.
Takata recall. My vehicle was damaged in the replacement of an airbag part where the airbag goes in the dash when it was in the dealership mechanic area being worked on. To my knowledge the vehicle was stationary and not running.

99 Ford Ranger XLT sport package. 5 speed manual. Truck body is rust free but frame has rotted out. Rust began on left rear frame and spread to entire frame and cross members. Spare tire fell off, frame cracked in half causing bumper to fall off, gas tank fell off truck hitting a small road bump at 60mph. Both sides of rear frame, bumper, and gas tank were repaired. Now frame has cracked in half under passenger side door. Truck is unsafe to drive with only 99,000 miles. Windshield wipers also go off intermittently and do not always work when turned on.

Windshield wiper motor on 2000 Ford Ranger XLT pickup truck began to fail about 1 year after I bought the truck. The wipers would work occasionally and then fail on me. Took it to Ford dealership and they diagnosed problem as the windshield wiper motor is defective / bad and will need to be replaced. I note that in 2006 Ford Rangers had a recall on wiper motor problems. I googled this problem on google. Com and found that numerous consumers have experienced faulty wiper motors on Ford Ranger pickup trucks. I believe it is a defect in the manufacturing of this motor. Very dangerous as sudden thunderstorms and rain occur where I live - can be heavy at times, causing complete loss of visibility when driving and could cause an accident.

99 Ford Ranger, windshield wipers turn on by themselves while driving. Now wont turn on at all. Seems to be a driving hazard if your driving in the rain and they quit!!.
The contact owns a 1998 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that the windshield wipers worked intermittently. The dealer inspected the vehicle and found no failures. After the vehicle was purchased, the contact was informed of a recall for the electrical system. The NHTSA campaign id number was unknown. The failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 45,000.

(1) the windshield wipers will turn on by themselves while I am driving the vehicle when I have not activated them. I may be traveling at 20 to 65 mph, sitting at a stop light, or turning at an intersection or corner, and the wipers just come on by themselves. (2) this event has occurred 2 - 3 times per week since 2007 and the consequence is that both wipers scrape across a dry windshield leaving tracks on the windshield. As I only have approximately 100,000 miles on the vehicle, these incidents began when I only had approximately 75,000 to 80,000 miles on it. (3) to stop the wipers, I pull over to the side of the road, turn off the engine and than restart the vehicle--this does not always work. The other is to put the wipers on fast speed for a couple of seconds and turn the wipers off. And this "solution" does not always work. At times during rain, when I first turn the wipers on, they will not turn on at all. I turn the wiper knob off and than put on high speed than back the speed down to get them working. A professional repair has not been made up to this date as I would like to know if this is a manufacturer's defect.
The prolbem with this truck seating at the light the seat seems little be high can not see the street traffic light if you the first one, secondly the turning radius it is terrible when you turn to the left only goes 3/4 of the way while other trucks can turn 180 degrees one way it is fine to the left but to the right not good. This problem since we own the truck.
