Ten problems related to engine have been reported for the 1999 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Spark plug blew out of head during acceleration on highway on ramp. Vapors continued coming out of spark plug hole which could lead to a possible engine fire.
I have a 1999 Ford Taurus with a blown head gasket. It seems to me that the Ford motor CO. Knew all along this was a problem. I took my car in to get the thermostat replaced because I did not have any heat. I get the call the next day that I have a blown head gasket. I have an autistic daughter and my mother who has rheumatoid arthritis that I need to use this car to take to doctor appts. And such. I can not afford to fix this problem, an $1100. 00 problem, nor can I afford to go out and buy another car. I am upset, angry, hurt, and other emotions I cannot describe. Is there anything I can do or a class action lawsuit I can contact?.
Consumer received recall 04v332000, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and was told that the parts will be in until December.
Head gasket defects seem prevalent with Ford engines. Mine just went on my 1999 Taurus wagon with only 37,000 miles.
The engine rod failed.
Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the engine will seize and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle causing the consumer to pull over. Dealer notified ts.

A block in the engine shouldnt crack within 3 months of buying a vehicle unless there was a problem with it earlier, im running a background check with lawyer. Please help.

Rear engine gasket was defective, it blew off causing oil to drain which required engine replacement, Ford stated to consumer that the first available engine will not be available until March of 2001, the defective engine almost caused a crash.
