On October 23 2019, I retained mavis discount tire to inspect my new york state registered 2003 Ford Taurus. Mavis discount tire passed the vehicle, determining the vehicles condition complied with NY state safety standard of roadworthiness. 12/12/2019, after repairing the transmission at gorilla auto works, I was informed of a serious structural situation, control arm assembly "severely deteriorated". On January 20th 2020, I again referred the vehicle to caskinete Ford carthage new york for further evaluation, at Ford motor company standards, as was informed, that the control arm assembly was not repairable, at the present condition, did not meet new york state or federal safety standards, contrary to the original status, and inspection , issued 10/23/2019 mavis discount tire arsenal st. Watertown new york. Further evaluations, study revealed, that failure of this condition, underway, at us interstate average speed of traffic, potentially catastrophic incident would result, eminent risk of loss of life. Per us agency standards, I have made all reasonable efforts to resolve this complaint with relevant state agencies, dmv. Etc. Additional efforts included relevant new york state political representatives, to include new york state senate. *please note the, possibly intentional omission by mavis staff, of the vehicles mileage. Obtained by other records.

The right lower control arm rear bushing has worn out. The car has 70,000 miles on it. I don't think it should wear out with that few miles on it.

Just bought the car and doing some routine service , oil change , brake inspection etc. Noticed that the rear body mounts on the subframe had rust rot. And looking over the rest of the subframe noticed that the lower control arms on the front mount of both left and right sides were rotted out completely. The repair work is more than what I paid for the car. I can't even put the car on the road. It will not pass inspection. For a car that is only 10 years old the subframe shouldn't be rotted out like this. Ford should give some kind of assistance with this problem.
My son is 22 yrs old he bought this 199 Ford Taurus from a used car dealer in March 2013,him and his girlfriend was driving down the highway when all of a sudden, the car jerked to the left really hard he could not control it no steering control, needless to say he went down a ditch thru a yard and hit this ladys parked car in her drive way totalling it,and hit the side of her house, his girl friend was critically injured having to be airlifted, this accident resulted in a seriouse injury and seriouse property damage, his girl friends seat belt failed to lock causing her to go forward the airbags did deploy but because seat belt failed to lock her head ended up hitting windshield when she got jerked forward. ,,,after accident had the car looked at by a mechanic, the sub frame had rusted out and broken and the lower control arm had snapped causing the car to jerk to the left and causing this severe accident.

I was driving approx. 75 mph down the interstate and lost control of my 2008 Taurus x. My vehicle left the road several times, almost overturned before I was able to get it stopped. A witness said my car was going sideways and he could not believe it didn't roll. The left lower control arm broke off of the sub frame. Ford motor company had an engineer look at the vehicle as they said this has never happened before and wanted to make sure that I had not hit anything. Ford has to been cooperative. I wanted to talk to the engineer or someone from Ford because I'm now afraid to drive this car. If this had happened near a steep embankment or heavy traffic, we would have been seriously injured or killed. I had my 2yr old granddaughter with me. If there are more incidents, there should be a recall. They are trucking in new parts and Ford motor CO. Wants the old part.

Car experiences vibration at highway speeds and has a rattle in the "front end". Dealer inspected the vehicle and found the front end "link pins" to be worn. These pins attach the lower control arm to the frame of the vehicle and in turn, hold the front tires in position. These pins have been replaces twice on this particular vehicle. Once at approx 21,000 miles and again at approx 56,000 miles. The dealer says they see this "a lot on the Taurus" and state that Ford has now changed the part due to excessive wear. This is a critical component as failure of this part could result in the front wheels coming off the vehicle (per the dealership). Again - symptoms are front end vibration, which is not corrected by tire balance.

Wheel alignment was off due to corrosion. All four tires were warped, and needed to be replaced. Dealership was aware of problem. The dealer replaced rear right and left side lower control arms and bushings to correct the alignment problem. The driver side mirror had failed and was installed by the dealer. (continental tire size p215/60r16).
