Had to shell out $528. 06 to replace both the 'input & output shift senors' in the vehicle. Repair involved removing the valve body on the transmission for access. Majority of the cost involve the labor to reach this area on trans. A month earlier trans locked up in low gear, dash lights were flashing? shut off engine & restarted. Ran ok then. Safety issue! recall is in order!.

As I'm driving down the road my 2007 Ford Taurus has started to accelerate on it's own. On July 9 this incident occurred and I was involved in a car accident hitting a tree. When I start my car it will rev up to 2 rpm and I have to push the gas to bring it back down. My mechanic has changed the O2 sensor and several other things. I believe this issue is fairly common but needs to be addressed. I have to ride my breaks to even stay stationary at a stop light because my car will accelerate up to 20 mph in a matter of thirty seconds. I got lucky that my children weren't with me at the time I crashed I was also lucky that I haven't read ended anyone. Now I am sitting with a very unsafe care and stuck please help me fix the issue.

Car keeps throwing wrench light on and looses all power while driving. Car has been back to dealership and they can not find any issues. Researching it seems to be a big on going issue with the 13 Ford vehicles. I’m going to be in a major accident with this car and I’m still paying on it.

On night of October 8,2019 I was driving vehicle (2013 Taurus) and it just lost acceleration. Wrench light came on and I was lucky to be able to pull to side of road due limited traffic at that time of night. Once on roadside I turned the vehicle off and it restarted and no warning lights came on. I proceeded to drive the vehicle the short distance to my home with no further problems. The following morning I took vehicle to nearby service center. They checked for codes but nothing showed up. They stated that the throttle body appeared dirty and substantially had them clean it. On October 10 this time while traveling on a high at approximately 55/60mph the vehicle just died again/ losing all power to the accelerator. How an accident didn't occur is beyond me. Vehicle was returned to service center and when vehicle was started there no warning lights appeared although a subsequent check of codes this time revealed throttle body problem. Upon researching issue there have been several similar incidents with varied ideas (powertrain sensor / throttle body) as to the cause of problem. But when traveling on a highway and the vehicle completely loses acceleration and goes in to creep mode is a serious safety issue.

The mechanic informed the contact to purchase the same fuse and to keep them in the vehicle to replace if the failure recurred. The mechanic showed the contact how to replace the fuse. The car has low miles for the year 42k. The transmission has always been erratic, hard shifting, holding gears for too long. A new problem that is happening, in the morning car clunks extremely hard into second gear. I went to accelerate onto a busy road and the transmission banged so hard it startled us and lost power. There's a safety concern with this because it lost all power and we were almost hit by an approching car. After doing searches on the internet, I found this is a common problem with a lot of Ford Taurus model. The Ford company is apparently aware of this problem in their transmissions and won't do anything about it. I purchased the car with 23k miles on it. As of today, we are concerned about our safety in traffic.

Vehicle loses power suddenly and without warning.
While driving various speeds, the vehicle will just shut off in the middle of traffic and show a wrench light on the dash. This has happened 4 times (twice in the last week) on my 2013 Ford Taurus limited. I can start the car again after about 20 seconds but this is a very dangerous defect that has many complaints. I'm lucky no one has crashed into the back of me. This is my first and last Ford.
Have a small power steering leak that turned out to be a racket pinion issue. I've talked to a few people with the same car and they have also had the same issue. Small leak in the same area that turned out to be the racket pinion needing replaced. You can really see the leak when parked.

I was driving and all of a sudden the car just dropped down to about 10 miles per hour. It wouldn't accelerate even when I pushed the pedal to the floor so I just went back to my job to park before I got to the main road where the rush hour traffic was.
My car sputtered out then stopped in the middle of the highway.

Transmission clunks into each gear when driving slow. When brake pedal is pressed to move shifter from park, there is an alarm that is fairly loud coming from the dash. The brakes seem to work well and I have maintained my own vehicles, so there is no reason this should be wrong with the car. It has very low miles for the year and has mostly highway driving. It has been this way for months, getting progressively worse.
Tl the contact owns a 2005 Ford Taurus. When the vehicle was started, the rpms increased and the fuel cap and check engine warning indicators illuminated. When the vehicle was shifted into drive, it lunged forward. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 125,000.
Turned off engine button w/o putting in park and car rolled back on my driveway.

Driving in traffic and without warning, vehicle loses power and shudders. Slows dramatically. Wrench indicator light comes on. It has happened twice now, luckily I was able to pull out of traffic and turn vehicle off. After a few moments it will start and the light is off. Both times speed was 50-60 mph. Wife is now scared to drive it. It has 52,000 miles.
Power steering in my vehicle went out in my vehicle while driving on the freeway. I did a bunch of research on 2013 Ford Taurus and discovered there was a recall issued by the manufacturer tuer but my VIN was not covered. I read in several forums that this is happening to hundreds of other with the same make and model, all typically happening in the 80k -100k mileage. Several attempts were made by myself and the dealer to doing the repair to get assistance and I was just given the run around over and over, every person I spoke to had a different answer or information. The dealer never received a response from the manufacturer, so I paid the $3100 in full. I confirmed with the dealer this was the exact part that needed to be replaced in recall 15v340000 that my vehicle was not covered under. I strongly believe they missed a large section of VIN's that were affected and we are having to pay to replace the parts or our vehicles are just left un able to drive.
Tl the contact owns a 2005 Ford Taurus. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The brake pedal was applied and the gear shifter was engaged in park; however, the vehicle continued to accelerate. In addition, the revolutions per minute increased to high and the cruise control failed to operate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called the local dealer (rowe westbrook, 91 main street, westbrook, me 04092, (207) 854-2555) and was referred to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer. The failure mileage was 127,000.
Vehicle quit accelerating while driving down a paved 45 mph road, wrench symbol appeared on the dash and engine ran rough. According to the owners manual the wrench symbol indicates that the vehicle went into reduced power mode. Had it towed to the shop and it started and ran normal for him. There were no active, pending,or memory codes in the computer system. It was driven 50 miles with no other problem occurring during the test drives. There are no recalls on this vehicle for this very dangerous condition even though there are many documented cases of the exact same problem.
Driving on highway sudden surge of rpm then loss of all power. Car went into limp mode. Displayed wrench warning light and see owners manual which indicates power train/loss of power. Dealer said code was reading throttle body. Believe they need to investigate further.
80,200 miles - during a 2 hour drive on the interstate going 80mph, my transmission lost the low gears. As I tried to slow down in construction, my car experenced loud hard jolting shifts when it attempted to downshift, bouncing my mother's head off the dash. It was super sluggish like following and hard to bring it to a stop. When stopped and shifting through the gears you could hear it slam into gear a few seconds after shifting into drive. Resulted in a costly transmission replacement.
