I have a 1999 Ford Taurus. The front seat passenger seat belt has recently locked and is unfunctional. I looked up on your recall list to search and found that there was a recall id 99v250000. I contacted Ford motor company at the number you provided 1-800-392-3573. I was told that your site generalizes makes and models and that my car was not part of the recall. They opened a case under #401980970 ; however, said they would not fix my car.

The drivers side seat belt cannot be pulled out, therefore, I cannot use it at all. Not only is this unsafe, but with mandatory seat belt laws in some states, I must get this repaired.

The seat belts in the front of my 2000 Ford Taurus will not release all the time. Sometimes people have to crawl under the belt to get out. I know wearing a seat belt is good to do, but it is getting to be a real problem when one has to try to crawl out when it will not release when pressing the release button. I have a pair of scissors just in case it gets to the point there is no other way to get out of the car. I have some people who will not wear the belt while in the car because they are worried of becoming trapped in the car.

He was experiencing seat belt failure and stated that when he buckles the belt, the seat belt indicator light still illuminates on the instrument panel. I'm a little fat lady that has to ride in the back seat. I can just get the seat belt to hook and cant move because it stretches tighter and tighter. Ford claims the do not supply extenders for the rear seats, we did get a set for the front. But that don't help in the back. When we ride home after work on I-79 there is a state trooper on a motor cycle that ride up beside you looking for seat belt violations. I need an extender.

Seat belts will not retract or when retracted the belts will not come out.
The front passenger seatbelt, 2nd seat seatbelts have not retracked properly since purchase of our used Ford Taurus wagon. Back seat belts also twist themselves and are constant problems. I have grandchildren that need to be restrained and this causes big problems. Since this appears to be a continuous problem and complaint why hasn't a recall been issued before a death or serious injury has occurred?? according to my old insurance site-there was a recall issued for the seatbelt problem but the Ford site doesn't list it under my VIN #.
: the contact stated the safety belts in the vehicle did not function properly. The front passenger belt did not feed at all. The rear safety belts did not retract at all after being unbuckled. The vehicle was not taken in for service.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. I have not had the defect repaired. It was a minor accident with on injurys. Roger martens.

Seat belt won't extract or retract properly in rear seat causing it to be loose and not fitting. Also causing it to lock up in operation leaving you to have to feed it forcibly back in to be able to use it.
Rear seat belts have never retracted by themselves on this vehicle.
The seat belt locked and the consumer could not get them to unlock. The consumer was able to finally get them to open by pushing the button several times, but now they will not come unlocked.
The seat belt in my vehicle randomly comes unfastened when I am driving. Even when I pull on the belt after fastening the buckle and it seems secure, it sometimes still pops out.
The passenger seat belt doesn't work. The seat belt was stuck in the retractor.
I have a 1999 Ford Taurus station wagon. In 2003 the rleft rear seat belt would sometimes get stuck and not retract. I would have to feed the belt back into the mechanism in order for the belt to finally work. After doing this for some time, I took the car to my local Ford dealer in December, 2003 and paid to have the seat belt assembly replaced. In 2006, I again had the same problem with the left and right rear seat belts and the left front seat belt. I again took the car to the Ford dealer in December 2006 and had all three of the seat belt assemblies replaced. At the time I asked the person at the dealer if there was a recall or anything on the seat belts since this was the second time in 3 years that I had the problem. They pretty much ignored my question. Now I found out that there was a recall on seat belt mechanisms and owners were notified beginning in 1999. We did not purchase this vehicle until 2001.
3 different seat belts on this vehicle have seized up -- completely failed -- in the 6 years we have owned the car. The seat belts lock in place, and are then non-functioning. We are about to replace that third broken seat belt.
The vehicle's passenger side seat belt locks in place which enables the passenger to pull it out. The seat belt has been repaired three times. Please provide additional information.
The seat belt light on the dashboard blinks on intermittently, and when it does the steering column locks up. When this occurs consumer loses control of vehicle.

In a 1999 Ford Taurus se, my 6 year old son became trapped in a seat belt that was not even buckled. After arriving home at 9 p. M. My son had just unbuckled his seat belt when somehow he pulled the seat belt over him and the seat belt wrapped around him and it was around his waist and back. The seat belt just kept getting tighter on him and would not release just like a cowboys lasoe. Any slack I could get was going up in the shoulder restaint. The belt would not give me any slack. This was in the rear seat on the drivers side. After it got so tight that my son was crying in pain and panic, I finally had to cut the seat belt to free my son. My complaint is that this should have never happened. Why is there no slack given on the seat belt especially in a parked car. The belt should not keep locking and taking up slack. This is an unseen danger lurking that could entrap a child. The belt will entrap a child without being secured in the buckle. Beware!!.
The front seat belt latch mechanism did not work properly. The dealer has been notified. Please provide any additional information.
The driver side seat belt did not lock.
We had purchased are 1999 Ford Taurus wagon used in 2002. When we bought it we started noticing things going wrong. So we told the place that we bought it from. They did not want to do anything. When we called the local for dealership they told us there were know recalls ever on that year. When I did a search on your site I noticed five recalls on that year. One of my worst complaints is that none of the seat belts work. My children life are in danger everytime I have to put them in the vehicle. How can I get the dealership to fix this.
The drivers side seat belt snapped during the accident (air bags worked fine) 10" from bolt that secures belt to the floor. There was no damage to the car in this area that would have cut the belt. Belt looked normal. Driver 125#, 45mph crash, belt brakes? luckily, after being bounced around inside she was in the back seat after the crash and was not ejected from the car.
During a head on collision, driver and passenager door side air bag deployed, because there was not front air bag there were many injuries, concusion, head, neck, back sprains and strains.
Consumer had trouble with seat belts . They retracted sometimes. Passenger side seat belt will not come out. Dealers were saying they were waiting for replacement belts.
: the contact stated all four of the vehicle seatbelt straps will not retract. Although, the vehicle was seen by a dealership, no repairs were made.
While driving vehicle, 8-year old in rear seat was playing when the seat belt became wrapped around neck. Pulled vehicle over. Pushed release button & belt retractor wrapped tighter around child's neck. Was no emergency release for retractor. Owner forced belt off child's neck. Bruises left on neck & chin.
When driving passenger's side seat belts locked up. The more consumer moved the tighter they got.
Vehicle came with defective automatic front passenger seat belt, which does not retract, will not lock in position, causing loss of protection.
Seat belt recall work denied due to non-defective buckle, upon inspection from other source the buckle was found defective and replaced.
Consumer called complaining about having problems with the seat belts. Dealer and manufacture was contacted and stated that no warranty cover the seat belts at all. Ts.
