Tire Valve Problems of Ford Taurus

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Taurus. The vehicle has tech International valve stems, model tr414. The contact noticed that the tires on his vehicle would flatten quite often. He took the vehicle to the tire shop and was informed that the flat tires were due to defective valve stems. The valve stems have not been replaced. The serial number was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 28,000.

Tire went flat going 65 mph on a interstate highway. Filled the tire up with air the next day to look for possible leak and noticed valve stem was cracked. I purchased 4 tires in July of 2007. During the month of August 2008, 3 of the tires went flat do to cracked stem valves. The first 3 tires the stem was replaced. The tire that went flat on the highway was taken back to point of purchased and was replaced.

I bought 4 new tires at sears on 10/31/06 . And I had a flat tire so I put air in the tire when I was done I could hear the air leaking out of the valve stem I could see the cracks in the stems and replaced it on 5/18/08 and a month later the same thing I replaced another valve stem on 06/16/08 . Now I will have to replace the two front tires valve stems.

Consumer states the rear axle inside dualtire deflated due to the valve stem rupturing. The vehicle was at the dealer being serviced. The consumer also states the problem is due to the wrong size valve stem on the tire for the vehicle's weight capcity and tire proessure. The make, model and year has been recalled (01-v-046-000 manfanturer id#01s05). The dealer is aware. Plkase provide more information.
