I had the recall done on my Windstar, and up until then I had never had a problem. . . Now I have gone to work twice(night shift) and my van failed, first the inside lights go dim on the dash(all but the abs) the the radio goes and the my head lights, tail lights, horn, windows nothing works and then my car stops. . . I have not had a crash , but as I just discribed I am surly on my way. I replaced the battery first thinking that could be it,Jan-5-2010 and two days later Jan-7-2010 I am finding myself once again drivng without light and my car stopping in the middle of the road, and that (abs) light on.
My abs brake light came on, but all of my sensor lights have been malfunctioning. They couldn't find anything wrong; just said it was a bad sensor. Then the cruise control quit working. Last week my brakes locked up on me and I almost hit a school bus. I took the van in and the mechanic said there was a leak in the break line caused by the electrical system that caused everything to fail that had been recalled by Ford. We contacted Ford and they said there was no recall they said they only recalled this part on f150s. This is a major problem the mechanic said. We had two fuses to blow the horn won't work; the electrical system is going haywire. The thing that concerns me the most is the brake system, but they say it is all related. We are having it repaired now. When I locked up my brakes I balled two brand new tires so now I have to buy two new tires that are less than 4 months old, because Ford refuses to fix this problem.
The horn button is difficult to locate and push. In emergency situations, may not be able to blow the horn in time to help avoid a bad situation. I selected a date below because it is required. Thisis not an actual event date. This is an ongoing problem.
Consumer stated the horn was not loud enough. (lawyer, daniel uhlfelder).
Driver must search for right place to push for horn to work.
Consumer states horn is very hard to blow.
