1 Instrument Panel Failure problem

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the instrument panel failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 00v351000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

2 Instrument Panel Failure problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2008

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. He received a recall notice for the cruise control switch. He stated that the cruise control failed prior to receiving the recall notice and the vehicle caught fire. Prior to the fire the dealer stated that they would need perform a diagnostic test. Ford confirmed that the switch should be repaired without diagnostic testing. There have been no repairs. The failure is directly related to NHTSA campaign id number 09v399000, vehicle speed control. The failure and current mileage were unknown. Updated 11/08/10 * bf according to the paperwork, the consumer was in an accident due to the power steering failing. 3 Instrument Panel Failure problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2007

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the brake warning light illuminated. He added brake fluid to the vehicle and drove it for approximately one week before the failure recurred. The dealer inspected the vehicle and found nothing wrong. Three weeks later, the contact located a brake fluid leak at the end of the master cylinder. The brake fluid destroyed the wiring for the electrical system, causing the instrument panel to fail. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was 150,000 and failure mileage was 140,000.
