Some damage was caused to the other vehicle. The column shift indicator was still in park. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer however the service dealer and the manufacturer have not determined a cause for the problem.

Park to reverse injury.
A 2 year old child was able remove the gear shifter lever from park into drive without depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was parked with the engine running when this happened. This resulted in consumer's vehicle rear ending another vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but didn't provide any helpful assistance.

Vehicle stopped at light/sign & then ready to move forward, cannot engage vehicle into drive position. Its an intermittent problem. Dealer cannot find problem. Informed owner to wait until it's worse before the problem can be found & fixed. Dealer finally replaced transmission on 10/24/97. No other occurrences since latest repairs.
