Just pulled into a parking space and put vehicle in park mode when without warning I heard a loud clanking sound. Turns out the transmission failed. I had to get it rebuilt. I have had numerous problem with this vehicle in many areas and have spent a lot of money getting things fixed and replaced on it.
We have not been properly informed about all of the recalls or other issues with our vehicle. The vehicle does have a lot of problems from the electrical, structure, engine lights are always throwing codes needing a lot of sensor replacements at our cost, the rpms seem to run fast sitting at a light(we have to turn off the engine and then restart), and the engine seems to run hot, brakes, cruise control(cannot use), traction control(cannot use), interior light are always flickering, passenger windows(cannot use) and door locks(cannot use), both rear windows(cannot use), leaks from roof, rear door and sliding doors, the cruise control, brake and traction control lights stay on while driving(we were told by a dealership that we can still drive the vehicle, but we won't have anti-lock brakes. ), the ac is always having trouble staying charged, the ac/heat control switches have malfunctioned(it has to be set away from the cold and the speed to 3/4 speed to work right), the battery keeps losing charge, the brake tail lights stay on draining the battery and had to get repaired by us because the dealership could not locate the problem, driver seat has malfunctioned(cannot use per dealership's request), cruise control and traction control does not work, suspension seems to have a lot of squeaks and popping sounds, alternator and starter had to be replaced several times, the coil packs need constant replacements, all spark plugs and wires had to be replaced before their time, cannot use the rear wiper because it goes down onto the paint and starts wiping the paint and not the rear window, constantly replacing exterior lights all around, the engine constantly cuts out, we told the dealership for several years that there was an antifreeze smell and they could not locate it until 5-28-13, replaced bad front and rear axles on 5/28/13 and many others. 12k-18k to repair everything.

The air flow unit attached to the top of the engine makes a clattering noise. The dealer/service dept. Inspected and described the noise caused by a piston driven mechanism inside this air flow chamber. Apparently this unit helps with fuel efficiency. It needs to be replaced and Ford motor CO. Will not replace it.
At 35 mph engine will make a clunking noise with no warning. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.

I have repeatedly contacted my dealer for the problems that exist with my vehicle. The brakes fail after prolonged pressure at red lights. I was told to set my parking brakes to adjust. I had two large bumps on the steering wheel. I was told that it was a broken bearing and they replaced my steering wheel and fixed the broken bearing. The new wheel has the exact same bumps. I was told not to worry about it. The air conditioner was making grinding sounds. The compressor was replaced. The enige has a ticking noise when vehicle is in gear but stopped with brake. I was tols this is the injectors and nothing was wrong. The van stalls at any speed for no reason after long periods of driving. I was told it was my alternator. I have had my van not long and already have a rebuilt new van. I went to the dealer and drove another van. None of the above problems were seen. I was told there is nothing that I could do but to trade in and pay mega bucks for another one. My van has been in the shop for 9 days the first time and 15 days the second time. I feel I have been wronged by the Ford motor company and I should be given a vehicle that I can drive and feel safe in. I feel that the vehicle has more problems then the 1980 aerostar that I replaced with this one. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to solve this problem. If there is nothing, then please warn others from the problems that I have encurred.
