Engine Knocking Noise Problems of Ford Windstar

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, he noticed that engine warning light illuminated on the instrumental panel. He also noticed that there was a knocking noise coming from the engine. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact that the spark plugs had failed which caused a small fire under the hood damaging the engine. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

The contact owns a 2001 Ford Windstar. While attempting to make a left turn at an unknown speed, the vehicle made a very loud banging noise. The dealer stated that the engine cradle was rotted out. For approximately 2 months I noticed loss of compression during acceleration and occasional knocking sound from back of engine. Without tearing engine apart it seemed that the head gasket failed and allowed fluids into the engine. Confirmed rod bearing failed at 94,000 miles. Car was not drivable now.

The contact owns a 2001 Ford Windstar. The air conditioner, cruise control, and radio failed. The contact inspected the switch on the master cylinder and noticed that the switch for the cruise control was covered with fluid. The cruise control switch was replaced; however, the new switch also failed. He cut the wires to the switch in order to operate the vehicle. He then heard a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The lifters were replaced, but the knocking sound continued. The upper intake was replaced as well. The purchase date was unknown. The failure mileage was 98,000 and current mileage was 119,000.

Consumer has noticed a knocking noise in engine. Vehicle is at dealership at this time.

While driving at any speed the vehicle stalls and the brakes grind. Had to be replace brakes twice and engine once. Consumer is hearing a banging noise coming from the vehicle and the vehicle will cut off without prior warning.

6 months after purchasing the van's problem with stalling out when stopping and then proceeding through intersections. It had been taken to the dealer once in roanoke (majic city Ford)_ and again in charlottesville, va with no problems found. The car comes to a complete stop with 'service engine soon" light and can't be started until put in park and then started. Also, as odd as it seems, it only occurs when turning 'left'. The air conditioning when started (max ac- ac- defrost settings) make a bang noise att the right front underside of the van. It occurs a few times in a row and then stops only to begin weeks later. The van has been brought into brady-bushey for this with no repair work performed because it did not happen when they tested it. They told me to bring it back when it happens again. But then, when it stops making the noise how am I suppose to prove this noise?.

Timing cover seal was leaking, upon having this problem fixed, the engine began making a knocking noise, engine was replaced.
