Rear Window Wiper Washer Problems of Ford Windstar

I have roughly a 40 minute drive to work. It was a cold day and drove with the heat on and the roads were fine after a snow the night before, but there was no snow left on the vehicle. I came out at the end of the day to find the rear window missing about six-eight square inches and shards of glass below in the snow. The glass appeared to have been hit from the inside, but I think it exploded from within (nothing else had been broken or missing from the inside). I'd had no trouble with the rear defogger or wiper. I found out that a CO-worker noticed it at lunch, so sometime between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm this happened. No one saw anything.

The contact owns a 1999 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the windshield wipers worked intermittently, but currently do not work at all. The dealer stated that his VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 01v261000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer:motor), although the failures were identical. The failure mileage was 166,000.

Repeated failure and replacement of various parts of the electrical system including wiper motor, rear wiper motor, fuel pump, fuel pump fuses, alternator, repeated replacement of battery, repeated replacement of brake lights and light sockets and brake light switch, repeated failure and replacement of electric door locks, repeated replacement of coil wire, replacement of egr valve. Constant stalling of vehicle in rain or humid weather. Vehicle stall when air conditioner is in use. Rough idle and stalling when vehicle is stopped and engine is running. All of these complaints have been constant and ongoing despite repeated replacement of electrical components since delivery of the vehicle in December of 2000.
