I have called gm multiple times and the local dealership. Gm motors has airbags and are currenlty fixing vehicles and has not included my vehicle in any current priority group. The local dealer tried to get my vehicle included in this current round and was denied despite my vehicle being in louisiana where it is very hot and humid. Both of these are risk factors causing the explosion of the inflator. I am disabled and my family needs my vehicle to take me to appointments because we bring my walker and O2 tank and now I have a $54,000 vehicle that they are all too afraid to drive. My daughter is short and has to sit right at the steering wheel. There are newer vehicles than mine on the priority list. This is ridiculous and dangerous. See priority list below.

Safety restraint system service light alert comes on at start up. I purchased this vehicle July 20th and returned vehicle to dealer for service on sept. 5. I was informed the steering wheel air bag and coil are faulty. The repair parts are on back order and would take at least 5-6 months to get. I contacted gm customer service and was told the air bag system should still function according to gm. I have had this vehicle @ 2months, I don't feel comfortable letting my wife drive this vehicle or transporting my grandkids in it.

There has been a recall in effect since 5/10/23 - NHTSA recall no. 23v3344; manufacturer recall no. N232404980, and there still is no remedy. I have spoken to our local dealership several times, called the GMC manufacturer today, 8/19/24, and was told there is "no remedy yet; they are working on it. With this enormous safety recall, it is hazardous for drivers to utilize their vehicles without remedy. What can you do to get this pushed through? how many lawsuits will it take for GMC to "remedy" this issue?.
A recall was issued for my car in may ‘23. I have called our local GMC dealer and they explain they do not have the parts. I called GMC recall dept and they say that they are trying to get the parts. But they do not give a timeline at all. This is very frustrating. GMC doesn’t seem to care enough about their customers.

I want to register a complaint regarding safety recall n232404980. I was notified on June 23rd 2023 that my vehicle was included in this recall. It's now more than 1 year later and the recall is still incomplete. I've made several attempts to have the recall addressed including scheduling a service appt on Aug 12th 2024 (at fox Chevrolet in caledonia mi). while at this appointment I was told directly that they had the parts but couldn't do the repair because my vehicle status is "incomplete. Remedy not available". I also contacted gm customer service under their ticket number [xxx]. My understanding is that if the inflator is defective that shrapnel can be thrown in the drivers face in a collision where the airbag deploys. this could cause injury or death. It's not reasonable to expect a safety system to injure you nor is it reasonable to expect someone to park the vehicle for more than a year. GMC should, at a minimum, offer to disable the drivers side airbag until a remedy is available. I realize there are almost 1 million vehicles involved in this recall and in April of 2024 only 3500 vehicles had been remedied. At this rate it will take about 140 years for GMC to address this issue. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Struck a deer traveling at 65 mph & air bags did not deploy.

Almost 1 million affected vehicles and a year after they issued the recall there is still no remedy to a airbag that can send metal shrapnel into the driver and occupants.
