The windshield wipers stopped mid windshield after I had taken into the shop that day I called to let them know if they perhaps unhooked somthing, except they worked for a few miles. I took it back and they said I needed to by a new motor. My husband said it was unhooked, but the wipers stick up about 1/3 of the way on the windshield.

When the wipers are on and and the left turn signal is activated, the wipers stop working. To get them working again I have to turn the wipers all the way off and back on again or activate the right turn signal. In the rain I have to decide which is more important visibility or using my directional. Not a good choice to have to make.

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. While driving various speeds and depressing the brake pedal to come to a stop, water poured down from the headliner and passenger side windshield. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the line to clear the air through needed to be blown out. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

Exact problem as described by other owner. . . When the wipers are on and and the left turn signal is activated, the wipers stop working. To get them working again I have to turn the wipers all the way off and back on again or turn off the turn signal. In the rain I have to decide which is more important visibility or using my directional. Now wiper will only work on high 6 mos later.

Windshield wipers work inconsistently. Visibility can be lost causing an accident.
Wiper linkage failure at highway speed during rain. Original recall # 08091 work performed in 2008 by dealer, but linkage failed again 2015. Independent shop performed repair - but gm refuses to reimburse for known windshield linkage issue, even though recall covers this known defect.

Windshield wipers disconnected during heavy snow fall. This is a major safety issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the sunroof was leaking and there was water building up. The dealer diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be replaced due to the leakage but was unable to determine the failure for the leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000. Ne.
I have been told a million times now that I have a headlight out. It's my daytime running light on the passenger side. So when we went to change the light bulb we noticed that it looked burnt so we cleaned it up and changed the bulb. A few weeks later the light did the same thing but would work once in a while. We took it apart again today to find the same thing that the harness was again burnt looking. This is an extremely common problems with the Acadias. I think it is gm's responsibility to fix it.
I've received 3 notices about recalls. Gm told me July the parts are now available, but when I call my dealer they indicated they'll put me a waiting list for when they actually receive the parts. Why isn't gm sending dealers enough parts to handle these recalls. My dealer is great it's just gm that is creating problems. Telling us they have the parts, then they don't send them to the dealers. My dealer is very frustrated over this as I am. Thank you in advance for pushing gm a little to get the parts to the dealers so that I (we) can get our vehicles repaired.
My service airbag light stays on when I turn my vehicle on at all time. I've taken it to the dealership twice and they tell me they can't find anything wrong. When driving if I try to clean my window, the windshield wiper fluid will not spray out on the passengers side and sometimes it will come out but it won't spray on the windshield. It's like it doesn't have enough pressure to spray it on the windshield. This happens every time while I'm driving and try to clean my windshield to see better. I've taken it to the dealership and they tell me nothing wrong.
Driving on the highway, conditions consist of very heavy rain. Passenger wiper bolt came loose and cause the wiper blade to tangle up with driver wiper. Driver wiper now bent, passenger wiper now stopped working. Driver wiper now did not have enough tension because it was bent to clean the window adequately. I do remember a recall on this problem and did receive a letter from GMC to take the truck back to the dealer. I did take this vehicle back to the dealer in 2012 they said they addressed the problem. I only go to the dealer for repairs and maintenance on this vehicle. I had a small wrench and was able to tighten the bolt up on the passenger wiper. The reason I am submitting this is because the fix GMC suggested does not seem to work. I am scheduled to take the vehicle back to the dealer on Saturday. I hope the fix works this time. Seems the solution of using a lock bolt or lock tight would stop the bolt from coming loose. This could be a very dangerous situation and I hope this is further investigated.
Wipers are inoperative. Linkage came off wiper motor. Brought to place of purchase and they said the part may have been recalled.
Left for work in the morning with heavy wet snow falling behind rain, and pulled out driveway got a few blocks down and windshield wipers quit working.
Windshield defrost will not function. Air only blows from dash vents. The dash controls are ineffective and will not change the mode from dash to feet or defrost. Visibility was severely impaired. I am taking the vehicle to the dealership for inspection tomorrow.

I was driving in heavy snow in virginia when my windshield wipers suddenly failed and I had 0 visibility. I almost got into accident because snow accumulated that quickly on the windshield. Until I found a safe place to stop and wait for help, I had my daughter get out of the car every time I stopped to manually clean the windshield with her hands. I was finally able to stop in a parking lot and waited for a friend to come pick me up. Recall 08091 that hundreds of GMC Acadia owners have complained about should apply to my vehicle.
While driving the car, I felt water drip from overhead and heard sloshing noises. Shortly thereafter, water began leaking from airbag indicia. Though the vehicle was turned off and key removed, the engine continued to run. Imagine how unsafe to turn off a vehicle, remove the key and the engine to remain running. Before I could get to service, the temperature plummeted to below zero, and I could not get the defroster to work. I scraped the interior of the windows, but without heat, fogged again. Zero visibility. The dealer said there were multiple points where water was seeping into the car, wreaking havoc with the electrical system, including hvac, defroster. Service tech said there was "blower mower" failure. After some research, I discovered my vehicle had same problems as GMC Acadia campaign 08207, with failure of sunroof part 25930220, which affected limited VIN numbers. We also discovered the airbags are not working from the water damage to the electrical system. The current status of this getting repaired is unknown -- obvious safety concerns! in addition, I had noticed floor mats being damp, but assumed a consequence of the snow and rain. I am convinced that the leak/damp floor mats is reason for the mildew/mold smell. Each of these problems are well documented in their tsbs. I was also shocked to find so many similar complaints! please, please review the correlation between tsbs electrical system failures and repairs to the leaking hose. Of course, GMC denies this is their problem, and says repairs will all be at my expense. Finally, I am not the first person to have this problem! surely, the fact that I (and many, many others) are having the exact leak problems as referenced in GMC campaign 08207 indicates that problem went beyond those VIN#s. They are hiding a big problem. Help!!.
Water has been pouring in the interior of the vehicle. It started in the rear overhead lights, dvd player and has progressed to the front of the interior, soaking the dash board and causing the electrical system to malfunction. So much as killing the battery, the rear door opening on its own, the heat not responding to the front . I spoke to technicians in salisbury where I bought the car, a GMC dealership. He has stated my warranty had run out, never stating this was a common problem with the Acadia. I thought it was a seal problem and set out to order one from the same dealership and was advised it that time, it was proablably the drain hoses, od course the problem was not identified as being common with this vehicle. But was told to "blow out the drain hoses" I have to put plastic over my car to prevent water from entering, my research has discovered several other owners with the same problem, I would like to see GMC held responsible for this and be made to correct the problem.
Wipers quit working at 40mph in a freezing fog/rain. I lifted hood and could see wiper linkage dangling inside cowl of vehicle. I have read and seen that this is a open recall for vehicle in states with common winter weather.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the passenger side door mirror did not allow him to see anything in the blind spots. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but the contact was informed that there was nothing they could do in regard to the failure. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they were unable to change the design of the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 1,100. Kmj.
Drivers side and passengers front headlights, these lights I have replaced multiple times even getting a ticket for 1 instance this is a safety related issue that needs to be fixed by gm.
The car has leaked since we bought it. We have had it in the shop several time at the place we bought it and it continues to leak. Recently, the leak has started to affect the electrical workings of the car. The florr has been saturated with water and when approaching a stop, water will pour from the ceiling, soaking the driver and rear poassengers. The water will run down the inisde of the windshiled which impacts visibility.
Blower motor inoperative. Replaced 08/12/11 and 06/06/12. It has an intermittent problem at the moment. Living in the north in the winter time it is impossible to defrost the window if the blower motor doesn't work.
The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact received a recall notice and was informed by the dealer that the parts were unavailable for the repair. The dealer stated that they would call him once the parts arrived. On a separate occasion, one of the windshield wipers failed. The dealer repaired the wiper according to a recall; however, it still failed to operate. The failure has not been remedied. The NHTSA campaign id number was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 16,319.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the windshield washer inserts that rest on the hood of the vehicle were cracked. Later, the inserts disappeared from the vehicle and the wipers were operable; however, the windshield wiper cleaner would not function. The contact called several local dealers and the part was unavailable for repairs. The failure and current mileages were less than 15,000. Updated 03-04-09 the consumer was told it would take 6 weeks for the parts to arrive. Updated 03/05/09.
I was taking my daughter to florida for cheer leading competition; I was just outside of illinois when the check airbag light and message screen came on thankfully the light went off but came back on on our way back to chicago and kept coming on and off. Took it to dealer but they only said that the harness was tight they only wiggled it and light went off but came back a couple of days later. Then the power steering started making noise dealer said they didn't hear anything and didn't do anything and noise is getting louder. Then suspension stared it making noise. Took it to dealer and had tie rods replaced. Then the service airbag problem came back and this time didn't go away. Took it to the dealer and they said that the harness was to tight and they rerouted it so it wasn't tight anymore. Worked for a couple of days and its on again but I didn't take it back and now is past its warranty. Then head lamp went out. Had to pay dealer $180 (rip off) next the other head light went out. My nephew replaced it in less than 10 min. Now there is a recall for that head light problem. Then wipers arm came loose from motor I had my cousin fix it for me. Now I have had the check engine light on for a couple of weeks took it to autozone came back with the code to replace the canister purge solenoid now I have the transmission problem, it started to act funny shifting pretty hard some times and then a few days ago I was driving on the freeway coming home when I notice the rpms at about 45000 and it wouldn't change gears and the fuel gauge started going nuts I don't know why and had to drive it home on the same gear. Took it to autozone and came back with the same code for the solenoid plus p0700/p0716/p0717 for the transmission. Now my Acadia is just sitting on my driveway no money to fix it and driving my 15 year old truck hoping GMC does something about this nightmare.
On two occasions while driving my car on a snowy day, on a major highway my windshield wipers stopped working, almost causing a major crash. The dealer stated that the rod that connects the wipers to the motor broke off causing the wipers to stop. I had to have the car flatbed to a GMC dealer. There is no recall on the failure. The dealer just keeps making the same connection. This failure makes driving my car on bad weather days very dangerous. My wife is afraid to drive this car in bad weather.
