Tl-the contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked the liftgate seized without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 163,324. Ec.

2 Hatchback/liftgate Support Device problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2008

The contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. When the contact opened the rear liftgate, it slammed down without warning. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel to warn the contact that service was needed. He scheduled an appointment with the dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The failure and current mileages were 48,000. Updated 07/07/08. The liftgate strut was found to be leaking. Updated.

3 Hatchback/liftgate Support Device problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2005

2003 Envoy sle hatch door lift system failed. As a result the hatch was extremely heavy and hard to open.

4 Hatchback/liftgate Support Device problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2004

Rear hatch struts on 2003 GMC Envoy failed without warning. Door could have fallen and injured family members. It is too heavy to lift. Dealer said part was on 7 day backorder.
