Seven problems related to structure have been reported for the 2003 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When opening the trunk release to place groceries in back, the glass window in the back door shattered with a loud explosion sound.
While driving @ 35 mph I noticed a very loud rattle and heard a noise looking in my rearview mirror a saw the whole plastic top that fits over the hatch back and houses the third brake light, fly off into the air and land in the other lane of traffic. It ripped the brake light wire right out. Luckily no one was coming around the turn at the time. Had to stop traffic to get it out of the road. This is a busy side road that comes to a stop light.
I have a 2003 GMC Envoy, that is rusting badly. Recently this caused the transmission cooler to fail. Also the rear brake shoe backing plates, the spare tire carrier, the tail gate, along with other parts. GMC has recognized the fuel filler neck corrosion, but not the entire vehicle.
Consumer complained about tail lights malfunctioning. Also, while driving, consumer could hear the air coming inside the vehicle. In other words, the vehicle was not air tight.
Various problems with 2003 GMC Envoy. The was a "pinging," on the drivers side. The power steering fluid was low and the steering gear had an internal failure, the drivers door made a rattling noise along with hood rattling.
One week ago I purchased a 2003 Envoy sle 4wd, it has 200 miles on it currently and noticed upon delivery that a molding around the drivers side door is crooked. And 2 days ago I noticed a large puddle of fresh oil under my vehicle, and my oil light went on this morning. I haven't even had this vehicle for one week and I have to take it in for repairs. This does not make me feel overly comfortable about my purchase.
There was a wind noise coming from the driver side window. Dealer hasn't corrected the problem.
