The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy xl. While pulling into driveway at 5 mph the vehicle would not stop, it accelerated and then I hit garage. There was damage to the garage the garage door had to be replaced. The vehicle was damaged, the estimated cost to repair the vehicle was $5000. The vehicle is at the dealer . An investigation is ongoing at this time. When the tow truck came to pick the vehicle the driver noted that the brakes were all the way to the floor. Ak.
GMC 2004 Envoy xl SUV has repeated stopping problems at low speed. Brake peddle has excessive travel and coast through stop signs at low speed. Experienced near misses with cars in parking lots. Brake peddle collapses to floor at stop lights and signs when stopped. False abs activation on dry pavement.
Vehicle: n04 GMC Envoy VIN: 1gkes12s646223199 the above vehicle was purchased 12/31/04 and was totaled 5/05. My son was driving the vehicle and witness say the brakes had locked and caused my son to go into a slide and the vehicle fell down the side of the hill. The vehicle had performed a 180 and rolled down the hill. The air bags and on star did not deploy. Gmac investigated the incident and indicated that there were no recall and the brakes showed no cracks. The investigator 813-731-3051 and photos of the area show the brakes had locked. Gmac refuses to share the investigative report.
