Gas smell near rear of vehicle when parked, after driving.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy. When driving the vehicle at any speed the contact noticed an overpowering gasoline odor coming from interior and exterior the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the cpc and module kit where replaced. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileage was 124,000. Updated 11/19/10 updated 11/12/10.
My 2004 Envoy xuv has fuel odor admittance and possibly leaking fuel.
My 2006 Envoy xuv has fuel odor admittance and possibly leaking fuel.
My speedometer has stopped working. The gas gauge says empty when I have just fueled the car to full. The car will surge forward when I am backing out of the drive way and putting car in drive. I have to immediately press on the brake and return the car to neutral position to stop from running into parked cars or the curb. Tonight we were leaving the park and both headlights ( low beam) are not working. All other lights and flashers on the car work. The interior light on the left half of the a/c controller does not work. The motor in the rear window went out. The dealership charged me $ 1000 to replace the motor and then they advised me that the middle window motor was bad and that would be an additional $600 to repair. I only could afford the back window motor. This car is my only mode of transportation and I cannot believe that gm has npt placed a recall on all of these issues.
2004 Envoy GMC xl having the po442 code come up with signs of gas leaking, smells like gas and evap system seems to not be working. The GMC diagnostic comes up with evap small leak detected. Very similar to the problems on the 2002-2003 Envoy xl.
Fuel gauge is not working, it even pointed completely south at one time. Looking on the web it seems to be a common problem in Envoys.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy xl. The contact stated that the fuel gauge and speedometer would fluctuate abnormally when driving over 60 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they were unable determine the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
The "service engine soon" warning light has illuminated approximately five or six times (about one-two months between occurrences) since January 2008. Every time I read the codes, it came up as p0442.
I bought my GMC Envoy in January 2004 for approx. $42,000. This car has everything. After about 2 months of the purchase, my gps went out and had been fixed twice. My brakes do not always work --sometimes they slip especially when I need them most -which is scary. GMC said that they have heard about this problem before, but did nothing to resolve the problem. The engine stalls periodically. GMC said they do not know why. The gas gauge and odometer do not work properly. When I brought my vehicle into north county GMC dealership in san diego for repairs I mentioned my gas gauge did not work along with many of the other issues. After they repaired the odometer by replacing the cluster, the gas gauge still did not work. Every single time these problems happen I am forced to pay a $100 service charge just so they can look at it and because I am in sales, I am also forced to get a rental car. After all this, I am still quite displeased with GMC. I hate to say it but they are supposed to be the best american car ã‚??professional gradeã‚?? and if this is true I will never buy an american vehicle again. GMC said they would be checking on all these problems and every single time I picked my Envoy up after they supposedly fixed the problems, I found several issues still unresolved. They suggest I need to set another meeting to bring my Envoy in and of course will cost another $100.
My gas guage says I have gas when I keep running out. I have taken to dealership and they replaced guage. Still does not work.
