My brother was driving down the street, no bumps no potholes, both side airbags just deployed for no reason at all.
I purchased my Envoy from a used car lot with no warning lights and no apparent safety concerns about 2 yrs ago other then what appeared to be a replaced front bumper cover and the vehicle was repainted the same color white, since then the brakes have intermittently not disengaged on one side or the other I believe it's the front brakes and seems to be worse after a longer drives and after bleeding the system the pedal would be firm and next day spongy feeling and going down rather far. Air bags did not deploy apon impact. It is available for inspiration although I am attempting to repair it after my accident the brakes are still as they were. I have tried both on as well as performance pads and rotors booster check valve and fluid replacement with no change. I was coming back from my daughter's dentist appointment it is 20 minutes away the roads were very slick with snow and sleet, I got off the hwy and coming through town I braked to slow from 45 to 35mph before crossing the intersection when I let off the brake the left side stayed engaged enough to cause the vehicle to pull to the left and I couldn't steer straight because of the snow and was forced to hit 2 traffic light posts in the center median. Usually on dry roads I can tap the pedal and keep it straight until the brakes released. I first noticed it changing pads when I 1st purchased it that the front tires spin harder while jaked up and when it continued I figured it was alignment or steering components worn but even after parts replaced a 2 alignments nothing changed, after my last alignment the technician said the brakes need to be bled and I told him the issue he was unsure the cause. I did not have any air bags deploy in this accident and the sensors were clearly effected as the bumper caved in the center. The vehicle also has had uneven ride height due to independent sensors in the rear. The vehicle now has a service airbag and service brakes light. Other owners have similar issues with their Envoys.

My wife was sitting in the backseat and the back door flew open on the highway. I have also noticed the other back door is not clicking shut and this is a very dangerous situation.
Rear air compressor bags are faulty. . . . From what I understand this is happening to many GMC Envoys and need to be recalled!!!.
While proceeding to take a left turn after coming to a stop at a t intersection both driver and passenger side curtain airbags deployed on their own. This scared my wife to death! it caused her to bump the curb with one if the tires only, no accident. Thankfully she was off work and the kids were already at school and not with her at the time! I called gm immediately and reported this. An investigation was conducted and lasted about 2 months. I was informed that the findings were confidential and that they would not be repairing my vehicle! you have got to be kidding me. My wife suffered a minor head injury, scare of her life not to mention we were not provided with a rental, communications were poor at best with our car worker at gm. She was even out sick for a week, it took me 4 days for someone to finally tell me that. The Envoy is a 2005 and was bought new and has been with our family ever since. Low mileage just turning 100k. Very well cared for. I am floored that gm is not repairing our baby! I have seen many reports of the same online. I truly feel gm is deceiving the public to a bigger problem. Hence the reason they stated the findings are confidential. I just wanted our baby repaired.
Vehicle caught fire under dash somewhere without vehicle being turned on.
My vehicle when purchased was altered from cloth seats to leather by the dealership where purchased. 3 days ago my car is signaling me to service airbag while driving the car or in idle. So I immediately took it to a certified mechanic at meineke and was told that this is a manufacturer defect and there is a recall for this on my year, make & model SUV. I called gm on 11/29/2019 and was told by a supervisor named angel there has been no recalls by their manufacturer and there is nothing more she can do about the matter. I cannot drive my car like this knowing this can be potentially harmful and hazardous.
The steering is a little sporadic at speeds 70 or higher or chachi. There is a lot of play in the steering mechanism you have to hold it with both hands to try to get some type of correction in the in the stability of the vehicle. I can't upload photographs or something I I don't know anything about.

On highway us-31 in muskegon county michigan, vehicle (envoy) was at almost a complete stop for a vehicle stopped ahead when struck from behind by another vehicle travelling at 70+ mph. The Envoy was then pushed into the vehicle in front of the Envoy. The Envoy suffered major rear end damage and severe front end damage. None of the front airbags deployed. Both front driver and passenger seatbelts did not restrain. The seatbelts stretched out to their limit. Both front driver's seat and passenger seat twisted inwards toward the console. Severe bodily injuries occurred. On 08/23/2018, GMC was made aware of this. A case was opened. The event data recorder was recovered by GMC. The edr showed the impact velocity, non-deployment of airbags and non-restraint of seatbelts. GMC then closed the case stating that because there was no traumatic brain injury, there would be no further investigation or compensation. The 2006 GMC Envoy was deemed a total loss by the auto insurer.
Tl the contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy. While the vehicle was parked, the tailgate latch and motor failed. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the tailgate motor failed and needed to be replaced. Stalling out in intersection, fuel gage and speed odometer ,air bags defaulting, shacking in front end , when driving. Verry dangerous.
The vehicle struck a pothole wile driving straight on a city street. The road was dry. The side impact airbags deployed on both the driver and passenger side with only the driver in the car. This has been reported to gm.
Driving in the snow, back passenger side slid right, lost control hit a tree.
While traveling 55 miles per hour on icy roads my vehicle lost control and hit a guard rail, then a telephone phone which was knocked over causing it to roll 3 times. The vehicle is a total loss. During the accident none of the airbags were deployed. As traumatic as the accident was I feel they should of went off.
We own a 2006 GMC Envoy denali xl we notice that the vehicle's rear suspension air ride air bags were deflating. Know it got worst ,they deflate while driving, once they deflate completely while driving it makes it very dangerous to drive because all the weight sits on the back of the vehicle, whitch makes the front very light and the vehicle trends to glyed side to side . Just last nite comming back from dinner the bags deflated while driving at 65 mph almost lost control of the vehicle because it stated glyding side to side. Is anybody out there with same vehicle and similar issue?.
I have no problem , but in the past I read in my local press that my Envoy was to be recalled because of fallty airbags. I need to know if this is true ,as I contueing to read many of GMC cars are included in the recall.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy 360. While driving 60 mph, the service air bag message displayed across the message board. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the driver seat belt retractor pretensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 163,000.
Investigating the air bag safety risk for my GMC 2007 Envoy, I discovered that people were reporting that they had crashes but the airbags didn't deploy. So we don't know how safe they are since they don't even go off. The ntsa needs to investigate the tests and complaints.
My car started going nuts the wipers wouldnt turn off the seats wont move the doors wont lock the heaters off and hot air comes out tru ventilatos.
I was in an auto accident on a major highway and upon crashing my airbag didn't deploy and my face smashed into the steering wheel.
This is regarding the "takata air bag recall. I am not sure how to proceed with reporting my vehicle and getting place on a list for air bag replacement in philadelphia, PA.
I and my passenger were in an accident about a year ago, a very hard front end impact, and none of the air bags deployed. We were both transported to the er by ambulance, I hit the steering wheel hard so hard that it bent inwards and broke my nose also had a concussion. He was in the front passenger seat and hit the front dash, where the air bag should have deployed, he broke his front teeth and also had a concussion. I've also had many of the same issues that every other 02 or 03 Envoy has yet my VIN pulls no recalls. This needs to be investigated!!! thanks.
My wife was driving home from the doctor and a full size chevy came across on her side and hit her head on neither air bag deployed on the Envoy both vehicles was totaled what should we do thanks.
A guy hit me on the drivers side then it pushed me into a driveway of a business which had a brick wall which I hit &bounced off it . Popped both tires on the drivers side. Then I hit a telephone pole straight on &smashed in my front on my car. . I moved the telephone pole in the concrete about 2 in. . I was the second owner. The other owner was the dealership &thy had it just for there car to run from 1 dealership to the other. . I had to go to the hospital &I am still having treatment on my neck back &shoulder. . Not 1 of the air bags went off. . It was towed away &then was totaled. . . I have hired an attorney.

Drove to work Saturday night 12/07/2013 parked car at 7:30 pm went in to work . Came out to my car at 10:00pm for break to see my car smoking the passengers heated seat turned it's self on at some point and was on fire burning the seat and my cooler that was sitting on the seat was on fire and smoke filled the car was making it hard to breath the smoke was thick and smelled toxic. Me and my fellow employees dumped snow on and under the seat from as far, away as we could till the smoke calmed down. To get the fire out. I am so grateful I was not driving or there was no person sitting on the seat at the time could of caused me to wreck myself or others. On my drive home could not use the heat due to the fumes being to strong with the windows up and heat on had to drive with no heat and windows down 40 minutes with the temps in the teens.
