GMC Envoy owners have reported 1 problem related to electrical jack (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
On June 26,2010, I had a flat tire. I own a 2002 GMC Envoy. Luckily I was at home when I noticed I had a flat tire on the passenger side rear. I've changed flats before so I figured ok, I might as well get started. To my horror I discovered the hoist on the underside of the vehicle would not lower the spare tire. I could not believe this was happening. After trying for several hours underneath the vehicle I gave up. So my wife said call roadside assistance to help. I called them and they came to my home to assist. I had the vehicle jacked up and supported so the driver of the towtruck would take a look. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do either. This is now total frustration. After several hours of deliberation, I decided to go on the internet to find a fix for this problem. Luckily, I found a forum of owners who had the same type of vehicle and who had experienced the same problems I had. Their suggestion worked for me, however, the real problem still exists with hoist on the vehicle. In my opinion, this is a very severe problem whick requires a recall. Gm made a huge gaffe with this one.
