My 04 GMC Envoy was having problem with the battery not holding a charge I went and purchased a new battery at autozone installed the new battery after the install we went to drive our car and the ac would only blow through the defroster vents and floor vents. I went online and looked at many websites forms and youtube videos with the same complaints of other owners stating the same thing happen to them after replacing the battery. I have found over 5000 complaints of the same issue this seems to bee a known issue I believe this needs to be recalled now my ac will not work because of a known issue with Envoys as well as trailblazers.

38 Equipment problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 05/15/2015

While driving the car on the highway it suddenly started to smoke. We had pulled over to see what was going on and once we got out of the car to see the car was already on fire under the hood by the passengers side. The flames were already coming out of under the car by the front passengers side tire. Once we saw the fire we ran away from the car, but we have no idea why the fire started in the first place since we had driven it hours before and farther then where we were when the fire had occurred.

39 Equipment problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

When backing the vehicle to leave a local restaurant, driver struck vehicle behind her. This happened so quickly that it was unknown to the driver how the vehicle traveled so quickly that driver had not even had a chance to turn the steering wheel to avoid striking the other vehicle. Driver placed vehicle in drive to pull over to assess the damage. When placed into drive, the vehicle lurched forward and continued to accelerate despite the brakes being applied. The vehicle struck a brick restaurant. Damage was also done to the interior bathroom of the facility and the business had to close to assure safety of it's staff/customers. Witness states the vehicle was obviously lurching and appeared to have a mechanical problem. The driver's foot bounced off of the brake pedal on impact lodging it underneath the brake pedal. It was also noted that neither front airbags did deploy. Driver did not seek medical attention however driver's foot was badly bruised.

41 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 04/07/2015

My rear passenger door won't latch. It was opened and then wouldn't latch again. I have been told by the dealership that it is the latch assembly. There is/was a recall for the exact problem for the 2002 and 2003 GMC Envoy. The latch is not latching properly on the rear passenger side.

42 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 04/03/2015

After finishing shopping, I went to my car and opened the back door to put my merchandise , as soon as the door opened about 12 inches, the glass blew up and shattered everywhere. I've owned this SUV for 2 years now and never had any issue with the back door, it was shocking how a glass would shatter like this. In addition, it is very expensive to replace the glass ($500 and up).

43 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/27/2015

The cruise control is intermittent.

44 Equipment problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/22/2015

I was involved in a head on collision, where a car came around a bus into my lane . It was a clear cut case of who was at fault. My concern is that my air bag never deployed. There is a driver and passenger airbag in that model. If not for my seat belt , I would have gone through the windshield and the vehicle was totaled from the force. There are pictures I could forward of the accident. I wanted to know if there was any thing else I could do to address this issue. Thank you.

As I was driving in cruise control speed off 55 mph vehicle begin to make a dragging sound. After stopping and placing vehicle into park and then putting gear back into drive vehicle began to go into reverse mode. I then tried every other gear 1,2,3 drive the vehicle continued to still go into reverse. The car still turns on without a problem but will not move forward when in drive.

46 Equipment problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/05/2015

I first noticed this problem when I was getting onto a highway and when I looked at my speedometer it registered 120mph. I was just merging into the lane with traffic. Then when I exited and wile waiting for a stoplight to change to green, my car registered 60 while sitting still. This had happened the winter before and then stopped. This time I had to fix it. It never stopped registering my speed incorrectly.

47 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/10/2015

While opening my tailgate window to unload groceries, the glass exploded and shattered into tiny pieces. Other than a few scratches, I had no injuries despite glass raining down on me. I've read multiple accounts of this happening to other Envoy owners. GMC needs to do something about this before someone is seriously injured!.

I picked up my kids and niece from school and was visiting at my brothers house for a few hours (3 to be exact) when my kids and I went to leave my rear window was shattered. I filed a police report and the officer could not see any reason for my window to shatter like it did.

49 Equipment problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

Took vehicle in for battery change, after receiving vehicle back, noticed that dash vents would not operate, defrosters and floor vents still work, contacted gm- they acknowledged there might be a problem with blend door actuator, but needed to see vehicle for repairs, estimated cost- $1000. 00. Did online checking, this is a recurring problem with gm damper motors failing, often after battery change. Only solution is change damper motor.

50 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 12/24/2014

We purchased this vehicle brand new, we have always highly maintained this vehlcle. We have a washed it weekly at our local hoffman car wash. We have a monthly service which includes wash hot wash and under carriage wash, I feel such a expensive well maintained vehicle such not have a rusted frame. We noticed at around 50,000 miles it was starting to rust underneath. We just had this vehicle serviced and the mechanic told us it is going to be a safety issue soon. We feel gm should be held responsible in this situation.

51 Equipment problem of the 2008 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 12/18/2014

Check engine light is on. According to tests it is the result of a defective throttle position sensor. The light will stay on for a couple of days and then go off for a couple of days creating a error message that something is wrong with the engine. With it going on and coming off it is now difficult for me to get my inspection completed with the sensor reading not being accurate.

52 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 12/05/2014

I went inside wal-mart for maybe 1/2 hour and when I came out the window was busted out. We thought some punk smashed the window so we called the police. They watched the video of the parking lot and they said that there was no one by the car when it happened. I don't see how it can just "magically" smash into thousands of pieces with no one around but after reading through other complaints I can see that I'm not alone. Of the 202 complaints on here there are 10 (this makes 11) incidences where this has happened and GMC is not recalling them? I just don't understand. It is going to cost me $500. 00 for a brand new window and it is a week and a half before christmas. We tried to find one in the junkyards but they cost almost as much as a new one. I am so frustrated right now.

53 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/23/2014

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy xl and have problems with the ignition switch being lose and not shutting off all the way when the key is out and just the other morning I went to go to work and my car would not start due to the ignition being stuck in the on position after I had parked my car and took the key out, I am now afraid that while I am driving the ignition switch is going to be bumped into the off position and cause me to crash.

54 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/15/2014

Need to know if the recall of the gas tank applies to my Envoy.

55 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

57 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

The key fob, used to unlock the car, will not unlock the driver side door. I can hear a clicking noise like the latch is trying to disengage, but it will not. The remedy for this is to leave the window open in order to press the unlock button inside the car or to wait and continuously press the unlock button the key fob (the latch inside the door will eventually unlock the car).

58 Equipment problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 08/17/2014

Leaving a restaurant I was unable to place my car in reference or for that matter any gears. The tow truck driver showed me a little plastic peace that broke and advised me it was the shift linkage. I reviewed the information and was amazed to find that it is very common for thils little plastic piece to break in the Chevrolet and GMC vehicles. I do not understand why the shift linkage is not one of many recalls with GMC as it is very dangerous when you are unable to place your car in park, reverse, neutral or any gears. I am a very dissatisfied customer and would like for GMC to held accountable for the problem. I should not have to pay a hefty fee for a cheap plastic part that can cause a major accident, injury and or death.

59 Equipment problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

61 Equipment problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 08/05/2014

Fuel sensors affecting proper read out on fuel guage. Window an door lock switches on driver side door does not work properly. Works when it wants to. Clips on headlight an grill assembly constantly coming loose. I have contacted gm. About wrong fuel readings they told me the problem is fuel sensors in the tank but will not pay for repairs due to closed recall. This problem has resulted in running out of fuel mutiple times. Even though this problem and other problems has just recently started. The cost is over 600. 00 dollars that I should not have to pay. . . . .

62 Equipment problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 07/04/2014

Following an independence day baseball game and fireworks display, I went to the parking lot to load my family and some personal belongings. I opened the rear hatch and felt a slight baulking on the right side. In the next fraction of a second a shot gun sound went off and the window exploded in my face raining heavy glass into the back of the car and the parking lot. Miraculously, I received only a minor cut across my eyebrow, but a large chunk was cut out of the thumb of my right hand for which I had to go to urgent care and may have to consult with a plastic surgeon as it heals/ scars in order to retain flexibility in my thumb.

63 Equipment problem of the 2008 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 05/23/2014

The vehicle rear air compressor air deflates over night or after sitting for a while. Air compressor.

64 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 04/26/2014

The speedometer and tachometer of the SUV began to indicate incorrect readings. The speedometer works fine until we go on the highway and travel with the cruise control set between 65-70. Then they will read the incorrect speed for a week or so then start working fine again. The tachometer needle just "hangs. " I talked to 2 different repair shops who adviced me that this is a common problem with enovy's and trailblazers. The cost to do this is over $500 or more. It appears that several other 2004 GMC Envoy owners are experiencing this same problem. A recall should be in order. When I talked to the repair shops they said before they can correct the issue under my extended warranty is to see it happen. Each time I had an appt set it would start working before the appt date so there is nothing they can do. Very irritated that GMC doesn't address this now.

65 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/08/2014

While driving with passengers in car, smoke started to come from the floor area in the back seat area. Immediately drove car to a car service shop to have inspected to determine where smoke was coming from. The car technician was unable to determine where the smoke was coming from other than from the floor area in the back. Have been replacing a radiator because the engine keeps running hot. Had a new radiator installed. Then began to have problems with the anti-freeze disappearing from the radiator and the reservoir. Took car in and had a pressure test performed. The mechanic was knowledgeable of the problem and identified that the anti-freeze was leaking from the rear heater core. I was asked if I heard a clicking sound in the inside of the car coming from the back. I told him I heard it off and on. It was determined that that was were the smoke came from earlier.

66 Equipment problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/06/2014

Failure of the drivers door module. Power windows work, but nothing else. . No driver 1/2 option buttons, not heated seats. .

The gas tank has a lose connector that leaks and allows fumes to escape.

68 Equipment problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 12/11/2013

There is a problem with the ignition in my 2002 GMC Envoy when the vehicle is on the key comes out of the ignition and it is not suppose to. I noticed that gm has the problem online and found out the hard way that my vehicle has this problem but gm has not put the 2002 GMC Envoy on that recall list at all and I have already talked to them about it and they deny it I have the evnoy that the recals are on. All I get is the run around by gm about the recalls and they want me to pay for their mistakes. The Envoy has 4+ other recall items as well the gm company don't want to take responseability for what they let happen and they need to be held liable for what is going on with the vehicles they made.
