GMC does not include my VIN into recall campaign 05v198000. My car exhibits exactly the same problem as in this campaign - while making right turn signal hazard warning lights are flashing as well. This may create unsafe driving conditions by confusing other drivers. GMC dealership has reported failed part as "flasher module", which is exactly the part addressed in NHTSA campaign. It seems that faulty part was installed in much larger number of vehicles then GMC is recalling.
I am the owner of a 2003 GMC Envoy. There is currently a recall on some 2003 GMC Envoys regarding a turn signal defect NHTSA campaign id number 05v198000. With 286,478 potential vehicles affected. I took my car in and it is not within the VIN range of affected vehicles. Although my vehicle doses indeed have the intermittent incorrect turn signal problem, GMC is refusing to have it fixed because of my VIN.
: the contact stated, there have been four failures to the exterior turn signals as well as the brake lights. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for a recall notice where the exterior lights were replaced, but the problem continued. While driving at 35 mph, the left turn signal was engaged before making a left hand turn but the exterior light would not illuminate. The failure of the exterior lights resulted in the contact's vehicle being struck on the drivers side doors causing minor damage. No police report was filed.
I have a 2003 GMC Envoy xl. I have to constantly replace head lamp bulbs as they continuously burn out. I also have a problem with the turn signal. If I have the heat on, the signal won't blink - just lights up. I am using today's date although this has been going on since late November. I also had the problem with the back doors and had to replace the latch on one of the doors in September and I can feel it going on the other door as well.
Recall 2003 GMC Envoy potential tail lamp failure. The consumer stated this is a recall issue and she has been waiting since feburary to have the problem repaired.
When you turn on the turn signals the 4-way emergency fashers are activated, causing a confusing situation for other drivers who cant tell what you want to do. This is an intermittent problem.
At random times when using the left turn signal the hazard lights will come on instead of the turn signal or they just won't blink at all. The rest of the time it works fine but could be a dangerous situation at the times the turn signal does not work.
I own a GMC Envoy lx 2004. When I put my left turn signal on the hazards turn on. This does not happen everytime, so it is very hard to repeat. This is very dangerous because I sometimes can not signal. I do not have time to stick my hand out side to let the people near me now I am turning. Also the right turn signal sometimes just does not work. It is also random.
