One problem related to transmission failure has been reported for the 1996 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When driving at highway speed and when turning a corner at 15 mph, applied the brakes, and abs system kicked in, causing the vehicle to slide. Also, power brake systmem went and transmission went failed. In addition, dealer replaced the brake pads.
