2001 GMC Jimmy recall no. 01073 stop/hazard lamps
this was replaced on my Jimmy before I owned it . I t went bad again . I contacted a chevy/GMC dealer and GMC and was told that nothing could be done since it was already replaced. This is a safety hazard since I had no brake lights so I had my mechanic replace the part which cost me $265. 31
I think I should get a reimbursement since this was a safety recall. Even if it was replaced once ,it has failed again. Nhtsa campaign id # 08v231000 mfr's report date :may21,2008
NHTSA action #rq08001
I am hoping you can look into this matter and allow me a refund. GMC gave me a case # 71-762-63641.

Nhtsa campaign #01v364000 addressed a problem with the brake lights on my vehicle. My vehicle received the service specified by the recall on 4-30-02. Now my vehicle has the condition (failure of the right and left brake lights but not the center brake light) which led to the recall. My position is that the failure is due to a known design flaw which was addressed in a recall. The recall repair did not remedy the problem as evidenced by the current failure. The dealers position is that they did the recall service and are no longer responsible.
The center high mount brake light, or third brake light, has gone out causing me to be rejected for an inspection sticker. This is an led light mounted on the rear glass, not roof, and the rubber gasket and screws holding the unit in place are defective making it impossible to remove and replace. The replacement unit is approximately $100. 00, if it could be removed. In 30 days, I will be unable to drive my 1996 GMC Jimmy, 4. 3l, on the road legally. I have been told by several parts dealers, mechanic, and auto dealers that this is a common occurrence.

At 12,270 miles we had no brake lights taken to the dealer and he replaced the turn signal and said that was the problem. That was in June. On July 6, 2001 the dash board lights flashed several times lighting all of the guages showing that the engine was not running, but it was still running. Engine light stayed on. Took the vehicle to the dealer who found multiple trans dtc's internal failure replace ignition switch and performed relearn.
