Engine Oil Leaking Problems of GMC Jimmy

My 2000 Jimmy has leaks assoxiated with the oil lines. I have found out that this is and has been a known problem for many years. Where is the recall? I just spent over $400 to repair. . . Gm should pick up this cost.

I purchased a used 2001 GMC Jimmy from performance (lemon dealer) pontiac in syracuse n. Y. . The vehicle had 36,000 miles on it and 7 months later (purchased 6/03) the engine is shot. It had a leak through either a head gasket or head/block and antifreeze had been leaking into the engine oil. My vehicle now needs another engine or a complete rebuild!.

Was told by state farm this was a design defect. The oil lines leak from the engine down to the filter that is on the front bumper instead of on the engine.

Engine oil leakage at both engine oil cooler/filter lines.

I have a 1999 chevy blazer, and a 2000 GMC Jimmy, which are both basically the same vehicles. The 99 blazer developed an oil leak from the oil lines at 33,000 miles, and the 2000 now has the same oil lines leaking at 41,000 miles. I have heard that this is a common problem with these vehicles, and engines have been ruined due to the oil lines. I feel that gm should offer to replace the obviously defective oil lines.

Oil cooler hoses leak. Known issue on this vehicle. Failure results in full oil capacity on road, and probable engine replacement.

While driving, consumer heard a loud dragging noise and was later informed that the noise was caused by faulty ball joints, also dealer replaced the front axle shaft to replace the inner tri-pod boot. The passenger front wheel had leaned in at the top, and the engine had an oil leak. The consumer has requested reimbursement for the monies spent on repair.

While driving the truck, the engine shut down due to anti freeze leaking onto the oil shaft, consumer is requesting financial assistance or total compensation for engine repair work that will need to be done.
