Steering loose & very noisey when turning or going over bumps, front suspension was very noisey. Both upper & lower ball joints very loose, replaced immediately or I could potentionally loose a wheel while driving. Had all four ball joints replaced along with loose idler arm.

While driving the lower ball joint separated without warning, vehicle was towed to a sevice station and consumer was informed that both ball joints were defective and needed to be replaced, however on September 5,2001 consumer received a recall notification for the failure he experienced, consumer was then informed that he would not be able to receive reimbursement because the service station confirmed that they did not use gm parts.

Vehicle had no defective ball joints until after vehicle was taken to dealership. Consumer was informed that the upper/lower ball joints needed to be replaced as well as the idler arm to pass inspection, consumer could not understand why a vehicle with only 39,532 would need such parts, consumer was later informed that GMC would replace the parts at no charge due to their goodwill program, however consumer still had to pay for the labor charge, consumer was then informed by a friend that there was a recall for upper ball joints, but when consumer contacted GMC she was told that her vehicle was not included in the recall.
Consumer is not satisified with reimbursement received for work done on vehicle prior to safety recall g01048s to replace front suspension upper ball joints, dealer stated that lower ball joints needed to be replaced as well but was not under recall, consumer requesting full reimbursement for out of pocket expenses.
: the contact stated there was a loud popping noise, when the vehicle was at a stop or while traveling 5 mph. The manufacturer informed the contact the vehicle was not included in the recall # 01i018000 or # 01v2000000, for the suspension: front control arm, upper ball joint due to the VIN. Both ball joints on both sides were badly rusted and one of the upper ball joints was fractured.

Prior to the recall notice, NHTSA campaign id 01v200000, while driving vehicle had a loud grinding noise. Dealer replaced the upper and lower ball joints. Consumer is seeking further reimbursement.
Original lower ball joints needed to be replaced at 41 months, 20,696 mileage by GMC dealer with GMC parts. The replacement ball joints again had to be replaced after 2 years, at 35,710 miles. The vehicle is not driven off road and serviced regularly. There seems to be a problem with the gm ball joints.
Lower ball joints replaced in order to try and remedy noise, noise is still occuring. Mjs.
While pulling out from a parking lot, driving about 10 mph, front driver's side lower ball joint popped out. Truck was towed to the dealership where repairs were made at consumer's expense. Please provide any further information.
While having vehicle serviced technician noticed that tires were wearing out due to lower ball joints needed to be replaced. Dealer was contacted, but couldn't find cause. Please provide further information.
Front end components were worn causing front end vibration, these include the upper and lower ball joints, idler arm and pitman arm, this may have caused the tires to fail prematurely. Nlm.
The lower control arm was defective, which caused the vehicle to sway to the right.

Vehicle was purchased in 02/01 with 32,195 miles. Within 7000 miles right side upper/lower ball joints and idler arm failed and were replaced. Approximately 2 months later, dealer had to replace the left upper/lower ball joints/ right lower ball joints, and the idler arm again due to being prematurely worn. Within an additional 11000 miles, dealer had to replace the lower ball joints on both the right and left sides and the idler arm again.

Consumer called complaining about problems with the lower ball joints and pitman arm. Dealer was contacted and stated that there is different problems with the lower ball joints separating and the pitman arm needed to be replaced. Manufacture was contacted and stated that her VIN number was not included.
