2 Front Suspension Upper Arm problem of the 1997 GMC Jimmy

Failure Date: 03/01/2002

Nhtsa id 01-I-018-000 manufacturer's recall 01049, the vehicle was going 25-30mph and without any warning the right side front of the vehicle collapsed, causing the vehicle to skid into a parking lot, consumer was injured. The dealer was notified and problem was due to corrosion of the upper ball joint. Gm has to authorize the repair because the vehicle was not included in the recall, gm will not fix the vehicle unless the consumer signs a gag order and refrains from notifying anyone regarding the dangers involved.
